Milarm got a few last week and a crate of 91/30's. Last time I picked them over, there was still hex 91/30 and an ex-sniper 91/30 left over. Ohh and a SVT crate for $35 or $40

They have been in business since 1949 and they import their SVT's and SKS's directly from Europe like Marstar does. Yes, $200 is a fantastic price even with shipping on top of the cost(glad I live in Alberta because the tax was only $12.67!!!). I myself ordered an SVT with a Naval stock like many other members on here because I haven't seen any SVT's locally with that type of stock. Our Wholesale Sports sold out of SVT's long ago and Milarm had them on for $250 but they are long gone too. I ordered a 1941 Izhevsk with 6 baffle muzzle break. I hope I get a decent one lol...

This is a great pic of Russian Marines with their SVT-40's during WW2

What's the story with the copper looking bolts on these rifles?

That's the bolt carrier. They were refinished that way when they were refurbished. Having said that it seems that some non refurbished bolt carriers were also finished the same.

Most of the refurbs have golden to bronze coloured carriers and bolts, early bolts where of white metal colour. If I'm not mistaken they changed to colour ones sometime in 1942, so early rifle should have white one.

Using a Vinegar bath and copper wool is the way to remove Post War dip-blue. Can be done to restore SVT bolts or K98 stock discs/butt plates. As long as you rinse in cold water and oil, you will not damage the bolt.

I personally don't think this reduces the value of either a SVT or K98.

I have seen refurb'd SVT's with original silver bolts and some people like that look. It was Rantik that pointed out that bolts were 'plum' coloured during WWII and that only early bolts should be 'in the white'.

If someone wants to 'whiten' a bolt or remove shelac from a refurb'd rifle, it doesn't take away value, but it doesn't add to it either. I have to admit that sometimes it adds to the aesthetic appeal of the rifle, especially with RC K98's.

Try some vinegar on it :)

Anyone know if the 10% military discount Lever Arms offers is applicable to the SVT/SKS deals going on too?
I don't think they are going to discount them anymore, I got one this weekend from the store, you can't go wrong buy svt for $200 and Russian sks $159, best deal in the country, some places still selling svt's at $300, like some vendors we all know, not to mention their names. And they are in good conditions.

Ok this is from Weimajack, not Lever but I'm hoping my one that comes in the mail tomorrow is just as ###y:

She's about as close as I'm going to get to having a '45 dated SVT. She's a 1941 Tula sitting on a beautiful naval AVT stock dated 1945. She's a safe queen. Dint think I'll ever shoot her but love taking pics of her

Thats is nice DJ. I got a hand picked 41 Tula with rails from Weimajack too but not naval stock. The bore was shiny and strong rifling so I shoot it and love it.
