Sorry no Snipers, all 1945 SVT 40s we have have no rails. If you are looking for a SVT 40 sniper may suggestion would be to talk nicely with Lever Arms and ask them to lower the price on the once they have in stock. If you need a SVT 40 mount and scope all Modern Made by VOMZ just send us PM

Is this a scope mount notch?
I received a no hand pick 1941 tula , via Canpar today. I do not know a lot about these.
Can any of you guys tell me if the little notch in photo is for a scope mount ??

Your picture shows an SVT 40 with the rails but no notch, these appear to be the norm.

A mount notch looks like this.

You are welcome.

If you wanted to put a scope on it using the original rails it could quite easily be done.

So I got my hand selected one.

There is a stock repair but in my opinion it was well done, overall it's in very good shape. I requested one with a good trigger pull and the trigger is really nice, I'm not sure what they're usually like, but this one is better than both my SKS and my Mosin. I'll post pics once I get it cleaned up.

I don't know if not checking the box would have changed anything, but I don't feel like I've been had. The rifle I got is VERY well worth $225+tax/shipping. I'm sure hand selected in no way implies you're getting a top of the line specimen, the price is just way too low for that imo.

Yea, I will. Can you ship them to me in the U.S.??? Just kidding, but if I could I would buy a crate of them...............no hesitation at all. They are going for $750 and up in the states, closer to $1000.

SVTs are our Canadian substitute for AKs

OK , so how would you go about mounting a scope on it.
Lets say a POSP or something russian ??

To fit an original set up that uses the rails, a notch would need cutting as in the picture I last posted.

I believe Martin at Corwin Arms has just had a POSP mounting rail fitted to an SVT 40. No doubt he will be able to give the details about that.

Hello all. Well I got mine today with the brass grommet in the stock. It's pretty obvious the stock has seen action as it has a repair in the butt. The full auto notch also is filled in. The stock is scratched here and there but I do love this rifle. Not only has the steel seen action but the stock has too:ar15:
Thanks Lever Arms for a great deal:D

Haven't ordered one from Lever yet, but I'm sorely tempted.

Why's everyone jumpy about stock repairs? I like 'em. Adds character, and as long as it's done with some care, looks kinda neat. Part of her Glorious Military Experience in Defense of the Motherland.
