That is exactly what I got in a non-hand select earlier this month - 1941 Podolsk with "flat" receiver, no rails, narrow trigger guard and 4 port muzzle brake. SVT stock with one small stock repair.
The second hand-select was exactly what I wanted (so I had something different to compare): 1941 Izzy, rounded receiver, with rails, wide trigger guard and 12 port muzzle brake. AVT stock with two safety indents, and no stock repairs.
The only major variations I'm missing on the two guns are "Naval" stock, and one piece front swivel. I guess I better buy a 1941 Tula with same.
I was lucky - no complaints. I only wish at least one had a better bore. They both have "good" bores (good rifling, not dark, some pitting in the groves), although I tend to under-rate bores, and they could still be good shooters.

The rear swivel is at the bottom, and the front swivel is two-piece on both my SVT-40's.
Who can comment on the significance (e.g. rarity) of the "squared off" or "flat" receiver rear on the 1941 Podolsk, and its lack of rails?

Flat receiver is the latest variation.
At first Podolsk eliminated rails at regular receivers (type #1), than they switched to simplified receiver (#2, early war), also without rails + not rounded.

From 80 known to me 1941 Podolsk rifles, receivers at 9% of them are rounded without rails, 15% are without rails and have "flat" receiver
Also those late Podolsk rifles must have 4 slot muzzle break, and stock with Mosin style sling slot (notched only from 1 side, for semi fire)

Received mine yesterday - both Tula, 1942 and 1943 production, both sling-swivel stocks, harmonica muzzle brakes, plenty of delicious cosmolene.
One of 'em has a bolt crosswise through the pistol grip. There's no evidence of a repaired crack or anything like that. I hadn't heard anything about this before. Anyone else seen this?

It's late Podolsk, last simplifications before evacuation. They did not make 'em a lot, but it seems like with 5000 Chilean Steyr M1911 pistols - almost all ended up in Canada. Does your have wide or narrow oval, BTW?
Because early stocks were prone to cracking in grip area they were crossbolted.

Ratnik, you were right, wide oval is not necessarily late Podolsk. As those simplified late Podolsk rifles have narrow oval. So it's kinda working theory as for the moment.

All joking aside I want to show some pic's of an SVT I got over a month ago. It's a 1941 Podolsk with a rare flat receiver(where the swing door is) and a rare Podolsk 4 port. Anybody else have one like this?

Are you solely focusing on Podolsk SVTs?
I broke down and ordered one of these for myself yesterday. Rolling the dice with no hand select, so it'll be interesting to see what I get. They also got me for one of the 25 rd Butler creek 10/22 mags that are on sale (you can never have too many of those) and it was still just over $290 taxes in, shipped to Ontario. How can you go wrong? A few years down the road I'll probably wish that I had ordered more than one SVT. Lever must have a boatload of these rifles though, at this price I'm kinda surprised that they aren't sold out yet.
