I had an SVT-40 a few years ago that had a shiny unpitted bore with sharp rifling (Excellent bore), but the two I have from this batch, and what I've seen described by others in this thread makes me believe that all have at least some pitting. Doesn't mean they won't shoot well.

Not all in this batch have pitting. I bought two and the bores on both are mint, guess I was lucky.

got my 2.
was hand pick too. I wanted two izzy to complete my 2 other tula.
Metal parts are really nice, great bore both of them
the only things I dont like is the two stock repairs behind the receiver and on one rifle there is a crack just beside the wood repair.
Anyway, for 225$ I think its not that bad after all. I will clean them off cosmoline and test them at the range when I find the time.

Im happy anyway

Did you have to pay the $25 shipping fee twice?

yes

I had to pay 25$ for two wood repairs lol
actually, I wanted two Izzy and it cost me 50$ hand pick for it..
no more quest ons please, I start to regret that ''hand pick'' option lol

I got 3 rifles from them and none have and noticeable stock repairs. I got hand select for one rifle and they ignored most of my requests. I got just the rifle I was looking for without hand select, and I'll post pics when I get time. Its a beaut 1940 tula first style, no repair, tight fitting stock, 6 port brake, and great bore. I'm keeping this one!

Took me a while to find time to clean it up, but here are the pics of the hand select I bought online from Lever Arms a couple weeks ago, as promised.

PS: OH NO THERE'S A STOCK REPAIR IN MY 72 YEAR OLD WAR RIFLE! I FEEL I HAVE BEEN SWINDLED OUT OF $225!
You guys are nuts :p
Sweet looking rifle!!!

I have one problem with my new rifle. I don't feel soviet enough without stripperclips. Where can I get some? I see alot or reproduction but hear they are ####. Can I order some from the states or are the classified under itar or what ever that nonsence is.

I have seen the real ones on Ebay I believe and as far as I know you can buy them in America. Are we allowed to buy bayonets too from American sources? I'm sure other members will know more concerning the law.

Here is a photo of my 1940 Tula with no stock repairs. You can see traces of the original round cccp stamp in the right light. stock fits perfectly without any wobble when you shake it. great bore. Haven't shot it yet but I think its a keeper!
