200 yard group shot during BRSC Canadian Nationals

Dr the center of a score target is scored as an X if you hit it. Not 11 points. The maximum score on a score target is 50-5x for centerfire. If you hit the ten ring you get a 10 if you hit the X inside the 10 ring you get a 10X.

Calvin, they score it an 11 in Ontario.

This is a score shoot target shot at 300 yards, for example, for the guys wondering about groups vs. score shooting. The score is 100 3x.
Shot with a 6ppc light varmint benchrest rifle.

just for my own reference what is the size of the center circle(not the dot) thanks.
also is this considered good or average shooting?

Inside diameter of 10 point ring is 1.3" and outside is 1.5".
Good, bad or average group. I don't know. I guess it all depends on the weather. You can really only measure the quality of your shooting when you are shooting in competition. At least then, everybody is dealing with the same conditions.

Lookit that - real 300y targets, with real 5-shot groups, fired by a real benchrest shooter, with gear that is more accurate than anything else out there.

And they are about half a minute in size. Way bigger than most Internet chat 300y groups ;-)

The problem is IBS and the records do not recognize that form of scoring...

They aren't shooting for NBRSA or IBS records. The emphasis is on keeping participation up, and people there seem to like the idea of having a chance at the top, even if you drop a shot into the 9 ring. It is popular in Ontario.

I would venture a guess that not many at that level shoot a perfect 250 let alone a high X count...you could probably drop several points and still win.... in registered competition a few 250 - 25X's have been shot...(100 yards) but never at the same match...

Keeping participation up or getting new interest in shooting is a good thing.
