See if you can get your hands on some RWS Rifle Match or R50, ELEY Match EPS, Lapua Midas or Center-X, or even Polar Biathlon.
You may even find some mid-range priced target or "Club" ammo that is consistent enough to work, but the odds decrease with these.
Try several types to see what your 22 likes. [They are fussy, trust me]
I have a CZ 452 American that is very cosmopolitan in it's ammo tastes, but it still shows a marked preference for a couple of types.
Run-of-the-mill bulk or value pack ammo will NOT be consistent enough at 200M to work. [absolutely forget copper-washed ammo]
Remember also, you need to shoot up to 20 rounds of any one ammo through the rifle to get a consistent coat of that specific lube in the barrel before you can expect
truly consistent results at long range.
Ask questions if you need to know more.
Regards, Eagleye.
I have a CZ 452 as well, what would you say is the best for shorter distances 50-100
I'm in but no fancy match ammo or overly expensive bolt guns.. I'm determined to do this with my BB ruger 10/22 and either federal bulk or CCI velocitor. I know i can shoot an under 6" group at 150 with the velocitor, have not had the space till now to go past that.
I'll keep an eye on this as I am building a 10/22 right now. Parts used will be a Dlask receiver, all Kidd internals (bolt, 2 stage trigger, pins and springs, etc), Kidd 20" match bull barrel (which should be here next week), Hogue over molded stock for now. Scope and rings just arrived today, Sightron SII Big Sky 36X42, Burris Signature Zee Rings with 0, 5 10, and 20 inserts.
