2005- best moose/deer/grouse hunting year ever

Went out for the annual hunt in Ontario area 8. Same group of 4. 3 local boys & me from out of town - Ottawa

Stated calling Saturday - unidentified cracks in the bush. Sunday 1 of our guys saw a bull but no clean shot available.

Monday AM we got a nice bull calf - skinned and hanging in town by noon

Tuesday another bull was spotted heading for the call - too far to shoot -got distracted by a less ###y but more available (real) cow...

Wednesday gave the area a rest - got a limit of grouse - they're finally coming back!

Friday AM we got a second bull calf! : it ran and dropped 12 feet from the road . Skinned at the butcher's by noon, took the quarters to hang where the first set was, then took the now ready first set of quarters to the butcher’s for cutting up and wrapping.

Saturday black powder deer season started...

Monday night at the butcher’s to cut up & wrap second calf

Tuesday AM we got a nice little (by Northern Ontario standards) - doe . Skinned & hanging by 10 AM.

1 pm flew back to Ottawa..

And the guys still have the bull tag and until December 15 to fill it.
