2005 Bisley pictures

Looks like Robertson Composite stocks, nice paint job!. Anyone know what actions, barrels, and sights were used?

Thanks for the memories! I was on the Cadet Bisley team in '89. Those are some sweet looking rifles! Definitely a step up from the old sportco's we used! Although we did quite well with them, winning the inter-services long range match, and the AG Bell. If you look around carefully, there may still be some 'autographs' upstairs in the old HAC hut. Good times!

Yes, RPA Quadlock actions with Trakker micrometer sights, Ian Robertson Composits stocks. They're classified as the C12-A1 in the CF system. The rifle we used for the first level of the course, Cadet Leader Marksman, was the C11, which was a Diemaco target action (Parkerized) with a Diemaco barrel and (I believe) Trakker side mount sights. I don't think the C11's had Robertson stocks.

Good times on the NRT. HAC hut certainly had all of the previous teams signatures in the shed. Our OC was dumb enough to inform us that this wasn't an "Acceptable Practice" that particular year. Dumb cow.

Please correct me if I am wrong, as It is my understanding that the C11s are the Diamaco refurbished Sportcos in 5.56mm cal. They have blue? MacMillian stocks and Krieger? ss barrels. Some were to be designated C12s in 7.62, but that designation was not proceeded with when they went to the RPA C12A1s.
The PRAs used to look after the Cadet Sportcos for the DCRA, but they were all recalled late 80s, so I haven't seen one since they became C11s. Any chance of a pic?

Regards, Wayne

Last time I saw the Sportco's they had black MacMillian stocks, and still had Central rear sights converted to 1/4 min and Anshutz front sights and Krieger barrals.
I heard they kept the stocks and put the RPA's in them, but don't know this for sure. I tend to believe Diemaco did the work on both C11's and C12's.
The rifles used by the cadets here in Canada are RPA's in the black MacMillian stock. There is also a set or RPA's that are used by the Cadet NRT to shoot Bilsey and the same rifle that team uses when they come back from the UK to shoot the DCRA. These ones have the fancy Robertson Stock and are some of the best looking rifles on the line.

Sure if they will sponsor me. No problem, feed me, cloth me, house me and give me a free trip to the UK. Supply me with an RPA and free ammo and all the shooting gear for the summer.:dancingbanana: I might leave the Millennium rifle at home and shoot theirs. Not much diff in the action but I do like my aluminum stock.
I don't know if I could put up with all that army type crap again, I did that for 4 years in cadets then another 14 in the reserve. For the last 5-6 years, I have been doing the Air Cadet thing as a civilan instructor. The onlt problem with the Air side is they don't allow them to take the fullbore course. They don't want an air cadet or sea cadet beating out army cadets and making a cadet Bisley team:runaway:

I saw this thread and thought, "2005... wasn't that when I went to Bisley?"

Brings me back, certainly. I'm stepping back into some light competitive shooting on Tuesday, actually, with the NSCC and CFSAC shoots in Connaught. It will be the first time I return to those ranges since 2006 (CF Basic Parachutist course). Funny how things work out.
