2005 Hunt - "Carnage In Alberta"

I hope I'm as blessed with good game as you were!

In the next 5 weeks I'm going to try hard to fill my WT, 2 supplementals, Mulie, Moose and Black Bear tags, as well as however many pheasant, grouse, partridge and waterfowl I have a chance to.

Here's a serious question: Do you guys think 2 large freezers will hold all that? I need to plan ahead if I'm going to find another one...

I can't see it all fitting into 2 if you fill all your tags but who knows. A medium sized mulie for me, once processed into steaks, mince, pepperoni, sausages, jerky, etc... damn near fills up 1/2 my large upright freezer. Considering one large moose quarter damn near weighs as much as a med.sized mulie, do the math just based on moose meat. I'll bet you probably can't fit the meat from an entire moose into one large freezer - unless it's a big chest and you can just stack it in. I could be wrong as I really have never tried but just seems by comparison sakes that it would be a tough fit for a moose, 4 deer, 2 bear, plus any extra chickens you come across to squeeze into 2 freezers.

Either way, good luck on the hunts. :D

Actually it'd be two 22/25 cubic foot chest freezers.

I hear what you're saying about the volume of meat though...

Nice deer guy and yes that bike is a Rokon Trail-Breaker 2x2 with the 12" spoke wheel option. They are the best hunting bike by far...................... I had a quad sold it ,I had a 8x8 Argo sold it, now I have 3 rokons will never sell it ,they go anywhere a animal can walk.

That Rokon sounds like the answer for a guy that just has to dump a bull moose in the bottom of a valley! :!:

Looks like you guys had a great hunt BigRacks! You guys hunt up in the Virginia Hills area of the Swan Hills right!?

I'm still waiting to get out after deer. I've got a honey hole, that I found during spring bear season. I will load up the truck camper and head out somewhere around the 15th.

This weekend I am going to go out and cut some birch firewood. I think I'll take the .270 along, since you just never know when you're going to fluke onto a big buck.
