I got my buck at 8:35 on Sunday Nov. 20.

I set up on a cutline that I've been hunting for a while. I actually just got into position and was reaching to get my touque out of my packsack, when I saw the buck coming out. Pretty lucky timing I tell you!
He was about 200 yards away and moving quickly to the edge of the timber. I quickly glassed him and saw 3 good tines on the main beam on each side. He didn't look real wide, only just the width of his ears but the long heavy tines convinced me he was a shooter.
I was using my .270 Sendero with 140gr Nosler Accubonds that I handloaded to just over 3,000 fps MV. The gun is super accurate. At my first shot I saw the buck just sag a bit. I immediately fired again. Those 2 shots turned out to be touching each other, but the buck had turned slightly so one wnet right through and the other angled out right through the center of his left shoulder. He made it about 5 yards back into the timber and was down; dead by the time I reached him.
The rack is 20 1/2" wide; 18 3/8" inside; bases are 4 1/2"; he carries 4+" of mass all the way on his beams actually. G1's are both 5"; G2's are 9+"; G3's are both 9+" and the G4's are both 6". So he gross scored 154" and there is only 2 3/8" deductions, just a really symetrical rack, so net score is 151 5/8".

But no digital pics to post.

You can just see the exit hole in the center of the rib cage, from my first shot. The Remington Model 700 Sendero, .270Win in the background.

154" Gross, 151 5/8" Net (green score). I shot him right at 8:35 A.M. but he went 5 yards back into the spruce and the flash was popping... makes it look like night time.

This is an amzingly symetrical rack. Only 2 3/8" deductions.

A few deer/moose pics + 2005 black bear

Sheldons2002moose.jpg

My buddy Sheldon's 2002 moose... this one was just under 50".

1996 Whitetail, Swan Hills area... 142 net. Man this buck needed the matching G4! 2 tines over 11" and 2 over 10"...

2003Moose.jpg

My 2003 moose... 49" rack. Swan Hills. You can't see it very well but he's got 3 brow tines on the left. This rack is thick!

2002Whitetail.jpg

2002 Whitetail. Shot only 1/2 mile from the buck I got this year. This guy grossed 152 and a bit and netted 144 5/8". He's a 5 x 6. The G4 on the left is forked. The way the main beams curve you can't see the 3 tines on the left. If you take the picture from the other side he only looks like he's got 2 on the right! Swan Hills area of course.
That photo was taken by my buddy Republic of Alberta.

I've got tons of other photos, these were what I had handy.

A couple more I scanned today...

This pic' was taken Oct. 4 2003, the day after this bull was dropped (right at dark). This pic' was taken maybe an hour after daylight. Doesn't look right upside down for some reason...
Took him with my Remington Model 700 .338WM.

Looks way better like this.

My 2005 bull taken Oct 9th. We called out 4 bulls that day, including 2 better then this (40 1/2" bull) but it's a long story. Helluva fun hunt it was!
