2007 IPSC BC Provincial Match Info

"Don busts 90 then gives a walkthrough to Sheldon who busts 90 on the exact same shot at the same target. Couldnt help but laugh after I yelled stop."

 the day started with 3- procedurals and 2 mikes and ended with 5- shots and a DQ. My mind was elsewhere obviously.

IPSC BC Provincials - Worse match ever

Is there no one else out there that had a problem with the qualitiy of this match. Or the fact that after spending $165 your trip and hotel room, the match wasn't even set up on Friday and you were wondering if you were going to shoot on Sat? This is meant to be the jewel in the crown of IPSC BC.
Not one stage resembled the so-called level III match that was approved. The range conditions were absolutely disgusting. Wal-Mart sold out of gumboots.
No organization. No squad lists no work lists, no shoot lists available Sat. morning when shooters arrived.
Good thing Westjet cancelled two of their flights out of PG on Sat morning or it would have gone from a dismal 77 shooters to 60!!!!!!!!
Worse match I have ever been to in 14yrs.

Let me take this opportunity to apologize for the unorganized state of the match on Saturday am. oh ya let me also apologize for the rain to. These are the only things I will apologize for.

When we agreed to do this match 2-3 yrs ago we had support from 6-8 more local people. Due to a variety of reasons, these people were no longer available. The weekend before the match, we were also promised help to set up, that did not appear. If you know ahead of time that you have no help , you can deal with it. But when the promised help did not come , what do you do? All of us have jobs and commitments and were unable to take the week off at the last minute.

I would like to thank Mark and Jerry for coming down a day early to help. They worked there asses of and made the difference. I would also like to thank all those who came out to the range on friday and also pitched in.
To those who showed up and did nothing but #####, its too bad you did not just go home, as usual things would have gone smoother. All of us will remember who helped and who did not.

I would also like to thank all those who helped with the change over on Saturday night. It made the difference on how things went Sunday. There was an individual who's wife wanted to stay and help, but was told by her hubby that if she wanted to stay she was #@$%$ walking back to the hotel.

I would also like to thank Heino Siebert of Spectra Power Sports for the use of the quads. It made a big difference with all the mud.

And I would also like to thank the stats people (especially Chris) for their extra effort.

As for the range conditions, its a new range and I cant control the weather.

As far as the stages , the mud was a large factor , oh and then there was the match disapproval committee.

Mr fn prefect can do the provincials from now on ,and can charge what ever he likes. Here is a promise, his matches better be "perfect" from now on, because we are all coming with our microscopes.

Points taken

:sucks: Okay boys lets settle this simple. Everyone has valid points and seeing as i didnt come i feel best to reply. Personally i didnt go and everyone knows why, im building a new shop. Secondly when i saw the photos of the range and nothing new was posted prior to the match i was suspect as to its readyness. Sorry sheldon but really, that you didnt have help and needed help should have been posted. I think you will find that whom ever puts on the match is always to blame. It is always the same people who help at ever match regardless of the readiness, this will never ever change. The fact of the matter was the match wasnt ready and the provincials should be, no exceptions. All details, match schedule, squadding and the range should be ready except for final tweeking by the match approval committee. The fact that it wasnt ready is valid for extreme #####ing and complaining. All things said and done the match got done and its over with, if it wasnt ready it should have been noted early and maybe you could have got help but nobody did and putting the provincials together by just winging it is wrong, club match is okay and qualifier is a maybe but not the provincials. Nobody should have to go through the stress of having to put on such a big match by themselves and its not right for them to even try. Sorry this happened to you but your zone rep should have stepped in and started phoning everyone for help instead of letting you sink or swim, or at least that what it appears. Help only comes with if you ask for it. I used to love traveling to matches as everyone helped out and it was well organized by the zone that put it on. I hate living in the past and the past had its share of problems as well but the range was always ready and PG new range is not and should not be used until it is, no exceptions. I wish you all the best of luck in the future with the new range and it will never get finished till you get some help.Remember this "it will always be the ones who dont help who ##### cause its not done" but this was your match and your going to get blamed for it all, sorry man but thats the fact. Okay i ranted, now everyone hug and get over it. Myself im going to go and hide in the back :runaway:IPSC is no fun when we all cant get along.

Sheldon-- Well said!! "Complaining without solutions is just bitc-----. Bitc---- is not worth listening to". Do not take any of the complaining personally, like I did. For me, it took the fun out of shooting this sport. Ignore the past and go have fun. Ignore those that need to find fault and go have fun. I think the point I'm trying to make is go have fun.
Kelly-- I agree with allot you have said, except for one thing, the IPSC BC exec. should be responsible for running the Provincials, after all they are the people with all the experience. It is a provincial level competition.
Nickk-- Read the first couple of lines, now re-read them. You have no idea of the harm you have done. Winning a match and complaining the way you do is like throwing water on the fire that burns within every shooter. It will eventually put the fire out.
