Yes it sucks, do what you can (write, write, write, call, call, call your MP, PM etc) , yes they went to doors to seize them, yes you have to turn it in yourself, no they won't notify you (if it's non restricted, they don't know you have it), NO there are NO plans for compensation....AND compensation should be the least of your concern when YOUR RIGHTS are being trampled on and changed overnight!!!! Your rifle has not committed a crime, and yet you are NOW A CRIMINAL when yesterday you were a law abiding, licensed gun owner.

the firearms ACT is flawed and must GO! We are the only ones who can attempt en masse to get enough attention to this matter as a group!!! The RCMP is seemingly poking the bear, and if we do not react then "other" guns will include anything more than single shots!!! As a law abiding firearms owner in Canada, you are now being attacked!! How you respond will determine for GENERATIONS TO COME the freedoms/recreation/enjoyment/hunting/sport shooting they will or will not be able to enjoy in our "free" country.
GET YOUR PENS OUT, TYPE YOUR LETTERS, SEND YOUR EMAILS, KNOCK ON YOUR MP'S DOOR. JUST DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN "ASKING"

There are some great posts from earlier today/yesterday with form letters already structured, just add your signature and send it off. there are other posts that have all the addresses, phone numbers, email addy's that you need to send this stuff to. No matter you live in Edmonton or Labrador, just DO SOMETHING, Join the NFA it's $35 bucks!!! Every little bit helps.

Guys, stop wondering, its an inexpensive start...... join up with NFA, its probably one of the best chances for the majority of us to be heard. Send in some mail to you MP's. Sign the petition for RCMP abusing C-68, its a start and its certainly better then wondering what happened...... when 10 mins of your time can make a difference, take the time.

I got a response re the Swiss Arms from my MP... guess I'm going to follow up with... "Oh ya... and the CZ858" and then save the letters with an "insert blank" for the next one the RCMP decides to change their mind on.

I really feel for the poor folks that just bought the thing. Like buying a kid a new toy, seeing the smile on his face and then slapping him in the face and throw the toy in the garbage. Guess who just lost a tonne of respect and trust. I'll give you a hint... the initials are R C M P
 
BUT MOST IMPORTANT,,,they dont know you have it,,,,they can't find out you have it,,,so screw em and KEEP IT,,,DO NOT TURN THEM IN,,,this will send a clear signal to the RCMP,,,their bullying ways AREN'T going to scare firearms owners,,,,probably freak the hell out of them when they see NOBODY caring about their threats,,THIS bullying has to stop NOW,,,let's show them they wont get away with it this time,,,and if some of you are ACTUALLY thinking of turning your 858 in???,,,remember,,you ONLY owe them the bare reciever NOTHING else,,,even better cut it up and bring them only the small piece with the serial number,,,that will surely piss them off,,,BUT IT"S LEGAL,,,LOL...you must also realize,,the RCMP isn't going to destroy these,,they will redistribute them among police agencies,,,it allowed under THEIR rules,,,so please DONT let them use YOUR guns against YOU...NOW GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND CALL YOUR CPC MP'S,,,AND LITE FIRE UNDER ASSES,,let them know the RCMP just made about 30,000 law abiding canadians into criminals,,,so that's 30,000 owners,,and their friends and their friend's friend's,,,THAT'S A LOT OF LOST VOTES THEY NEED,,,they may not care too much about firearms owners but they do care about VOTES...
 
I guess when your done emailing your MP's you could always go troll the RCMP's facebook page on bullying...LOL

As I read the FRT that is incorrect. The 'Tactical 2' is unchanged, the 'Tactical 2P - 05' or 'Tactical 2P - 06' are unchanged, but the 'Tactical 2P - 07' and up are now prohib.

Crankj11 probably has a Tactical 2P or 2V if its 2012.

And I just figured out I have a 2P 06.
 
If they can just prohibit whatever they want on a whim, how about they go ahead and remove the by-name restriction on AR15's and their derivatives, just for a hoot?

I want a damn NR AR10.
 
Am I the only one who is also thinking CZ is also partly to blame by using surplus receivers in the first place? This all could have been avoided by them not tempting the RCMP?

So how many of these rifles out of the total population of Cz/Vz 58/858 rifles are being banned? It looks to me like a few models out of the total line are now prohib for having converted auto receivers.
