2007 production KAC RAS.

I just received a 2007 Knight's Armament RAS and I noticed a few changes compared to older (2005, 2004) models that I owned.



Looks like KAC replaced the rear locking hex bracket screw with a flathead screw held inside a sheet metal retainer to prevent it from falling out when unscrewed. A nice addition considering that most RAS rails in US service are missing these screws:



The leaf spring seems to have been redesigned with a different forward gas tube guide:





The panels are also marked with a cage number:



KAC stuff is addictive.

This was for the KAC junkies, but yes, it's the US standard issue railed forearm for the M4/M4A1 carbine.

It's a non free-floating rail that replaces the standard handguards, it can be done without tools in 2 minutes. KAC does not have any distribution channel in Canada as far as I know.
