Had a great 2008 season. Shot the Brown Bear on the Alaskan Peninsula with 375 H&H 300 grain Barnes TSX. The Whitetail was shot with a 270 WSM about two miles from my cabin in Norwestern Alberta.

Brown Bear 2008

I took the Brown Bear,With Bill Steveson of Alaska Outfitters. We hunted from a spike camp on foot,Hip Boots,With lots of Glassing and walking. In 4 days at spike camp I seen 11 different bears.
The Skull is just under 27",the hide is 10' squared.
It was a hunt of a lifetime. The Whitetail was taken with a 270 wsm with 140 gr TSX.I took the Whitetail on Friday evening,Sunday evening Lorne took his Whitetail about 50 yds from mine.(I also took a cow Elk within 400 yds of the 2 Whitetails) Now that is luck!

Thats a dandy bear!! Congrats. I was up there last year and did not connect with one, but I'll be back. An awesome, once in a lifetime trophy!

Hi Northman999
I was thinking of something bigger for the Brown Bear,But like always when I go on a special hunt the good old 375 H+H comes with me.
In Bear camp the 375 was by far the most popular rifle there Guides Included.
