2008 IDPA Nationals (Videos and Photos added)

Congrats guys and great pics and video's,

I am glad I had the opportunity to compete and work at the Nationals. I SO'd every single competitor on Stage 17 (indoor range) with approx 7000 rounds down range without a single incident, accident, arbitration, re-shoots or complaints, we had a great SO squad as with all the others. I also had the privilege to SO Jerry Michlek and Dave Sevigny as well as many others, these guys are amazing to watch and they patch targets with the rest of us.

I also had the opportunity to have a nice chat with Bill and Joyce Wilson from Wilson Combat about IDPA Canada. They are truly happy that IDPA is starting to take roots up here. Bill Wilson even came out to the bar at the match hotel and had a few beers with us after the awards dinner.

I would like to thank all the people who made this event a success from the organizers, the IDPA staff, the volunteers, fellow SO's, the sponsors’, and all the competitors as well.

I did not do well, at the nats but poop happens and no excuses, we were all kept pretty busy working, I just realized that I never did go out while I was there, I was either at the range or back at the hotel helping out or at the Area Coordinator meeting. I still would not change it for anything, there were a lot of great hospitatily and great people there. I truly enjoyed myself.

As with any sport or hobby there will always be comparisions and differences with other shooting dicsiplines... I like to respond to them by saying "IDPA is just another flavour of Ice cream, no better, no worse, it just depends on your taste"

Cheers
