2008 IPSC Nationals Website Link

Plan on mosquitoes but if the heat keeps up they should be at a minimum.

range floor is grass or gravel, depending on which range. personally i use a good aggressive hacker type shoe. i don't think i will have you on any dirt .

Top Canadian Production Shooter

Dave from London arms gave me a call today. he has just received a shipment of the new CZ 75- SP01 Phantoms. if i understood him correctly this is a brand new modal and this shipment is the first time they have been in Canada. as such, he is donating one to the Nationals this year's for the Top Canadian Production Shooter. Thanks Dave!

Things to do at Nationals

The Canadian Pheasant Company is a bronze sponsor for Nationals this year. if anyone is interested in going up to brooks to shoot an 18 stand sporting clays range or book a shoot for some pheasants, please drop Ed Houck a line at edhouck@canadianpheasant.com

squads are listed....WOW,...I am on squad 26,..ALL Open shooters,...and me,..the only production shooter.
If anyone shooting OPen wants to trade,..let me know. No offence to anyone,...but usually (I would think),...OPen shooters prefer to shoot with other Open shooters.

You might have learn something :p :shotgun:now see what you done they took it off before I could look at it...:runaway::dancingbanana::D:D

I love to watch and learn....I am watching Cliff, Jim, Sean and the other folks,....but they usually shoot production or standard. Different ball game IMHO. Diifferent ways to shoot sometimes...times in Open and production are usually different times by at least a few seconds.
I have never really shot with the BC fellows in production,..that would be a learning experience!:)

Without a doubt, when you shoot Open, you attack a stage completely different to Standard or Production. For example, In Open, I'll take longer range shots on the move when in Std or Prod I'd stop, or if a stage gives me the choice of run closer (taking time) or shoot the long distance; in Open, I'd shoot, but in Std or Prod - more likely I'd run closer.

Equipment checks

Howdy Gals and Guys

i have had a couple of questions directed to me and i thought i would post the information here as well. first off we will be doing equipment checks as per the IPSC rule book and the Canadian Exemption Letter. There will be courtesy checks offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the range. if you wish to have your equipment checked before the match you may.

The dress for the Sunday night banquet is semi formal. this means no jeans, no shorts, no range clothes. while we don't except you to show up in a Tux or a three piece suit, we would like to see everyone make an effort.

well guys this nationals just keep on getting better and better. Freedom Ventures just informed me that they will be giving two guns for the match! An STI Edge and a Tanfoglio Stock II. there are going to be two lucky competitors that will be walking way with state of the art firearms. my comment to Sean was WOW and THANK YOU!
