2009 CGN Saskatchewan Gopher Shoot pictures and stories.

It was a fun time. Weather was beautiful, squeeks were present and accounted for. We even had a visit from the neighbourhood jackrabbit. Big thanks again to Cap & Ernie for inviting/hosting the weekend.

Good times!!!

I thought there was more than enough gophers for me to miss, and the weather was fantastic.

Big thanks to the captain and Ernie for the memorable weekend, and to Beritel for chauffeuring me on our hunt. Nice to meet you toxic111, and I can't wait to see you all again next time! Hope you guys had as much fun as I did.

Highlights also include some serious 4x4ing on the captains part and some defoliating of the campsite with the new saw!

I'll get some pics up, but I have pathetically few. With my excitement to get out hunting squeaks, I kept forgetting my camera at camp!

PS - You got a couple of cute kids there captain2k.
 
Yeah, I haven't seen a man that eager to use a chainsaw since I watched the Evil Dead movies! ;)

A cold beer would have been nice in the evenings but, oh well, maybe next time. :D
 
LOL!

Apologies for not being there with the beer, but I somewhat resembled one of the aforementioned dead with the eeeevil hangover I had on Saturday after Friday's nastiness.

I hate hangovers, but I really like beer. What a conundrum... :)
 
Some people are just full of excuses :D


I really need to hit the sporting goods store and stock up on reloading supplies for my .204!! I am down to the last 40 rounds!! That means I have shot approximately 760 rounds this summer :D I am really happy ;)

And it wasnt serious 4x4ing, just playtime :D But getting high-centered taught me that YES, I DO INDEED need a lift kit :D

With all my stuff loaded up I couldn't stay home for the weekend. So I hit up my favorite spot in all of Manitoba.

Glad you guys had a great time. I thought of you more than a few times while I was slogging away at work. You didn't have to rub it in with all the talk of the great weather though. I expected to hear more stories about snow.

If Ernie was to invite a few people out for the August long weekend I'd be more than happy to make the 10 hour drive to do some shooting with you folks.
