not to derail this, but i just had a thought.

anyone have contacts in the states? bit longer trip but was thinking would be fun if we had a big one down there. would allow us all to use pistols and ARs on the little guys for a change. good treat since we cant do it up here

I don't think anyone wants the hastle of trying to get restricted fireams across the border for a few days of gophers. And with the new rules next year, we don't have passports, and many others don't either. Besides, this place in saskachachuk is a gopher shooting paradise.

all you would need to get them across is apply for a form 6, i know my ATT includes all border crossings already.

passports is a good point i guess, i just assumed most people had them

Many (about 240) moons ago I had a fantastic time in a 2x3 mile gopher "patch" down by Ponteix, SK. I had to repeatedly swap in a .22LR conversion kit in my AR, as the barrel keep getting too hot when using .223 on the swarms. :D

Yes, that was in the good old days when AR's weren't restricted.

I'll definitely make the drive down if spring seeding is done (or close to it). :)

Should of gone a little further east an south.Ive been shooting down near Aneroid, the last 2 yrs.An average days shooting was 600 rnds,of .22, from 10am-8pm in June. One land owner even supplied ammo if you'd shoot on his land..And room to unlimber centerfire guns too.Heck even shot gophers off the tops of round bales..too much fun.:D

Kewl! I'll definitely have to make the trek over there if I can get away next summer. I've heard rumors of the poor besieged farmers supplying ammo, and would love to have the opportunity to experience their "generosity" (necessary as it may be). :)

Alright, who's bringing what? Let's see some pic's.

Here are my two latest that will be riding along.

Cool rifles. I've always wanted a lever gun.

I picked up a CZ 527 American in .204 Ruger a while back. I found a deal on varmint grenade bullets so I'm expecting some action shots. Now if only I could find a Magnum Research 10/22. We also picked up a mag loader for the 10/22. It is a necessity.

If anyone's interested I'd like to sell off some of my .22LR ammo. I have several bricks of quick shok that won't fit in my large magazines.

That sounds awsome...I was in Rosemary last year for a gopher in june and the rain sucked but you still can't beat it when you get to shoot gophers. Please keep me posted
Thanks

Cap, you know I'm gonna try my darndest to be there.....bought a trailer for the event and going to be in the process of putting a removable reloading bench in it specifically for this event. Was also wondering if I'm going to be bringing too many rifles. .223, .308, .303, .50cal MZ and if I can afford one a tricked out 10/22 (with about 6, 25 round mags) or a T/C 597(?, supposed to be a great shooter out of the box. Only problem is that it only uses 10rd mags). I would also like to propose a date/timeframe of 01 June- 07 June.......Open for discussion, as always.
