here is my 2009 stone sheep I harvested and just got back from Harley White..the ram is 39 x 15....included is part of my trophy room with 2 cali bighorns, stone sheep and blacktail and whitetail deer..
Thanks for making this prairie boy drool! Justs keeps the dream of a sheep hunt alive. Thanks for sharing! I must now go sell a kidney so I can come up with the required deposit.
No I didnt however the taxidermist did put some ARMORALL dash protectant on the horns....seriously...never ever heard of this and dont know what to think...just hope it doest affect the long term color of the horns..
I am BLESSED beyond belief with this ram..with River jet Adventures..Mr Kevin Willis getting me into great stone sheep country on the Muskwa river..and Scott..a GREAT friend who took two weeks away from work and did way more than his share of work packing etc to ensure I could get the job done...these two guys did everything...all I did was climb and climb and climb and shoot 1 shot @ 318 yards...
hmmm I was blessed..a great cape..brown on the back with traditional salt and pepper face..and then thic k bases that go deep and wide and flare out and retain mass..and keep their lamb tips..BOTH...has everything a stone sheep hunter would want..
Srupp, you have to tell me the general area where you got that BT - I have a pretty good guess. Maybe just answer this: is it considered a Blacktail in the BC records but wouldn't be in B&C or P&Y?
Steven,
I just forwarded the pic of the ram and your comments to my son.
He's heading up the Muskwa early September with his 18 foot Alicraft jet boat.
I'm thinking your story should get the juices flowing (if they aren't already) and maybe spur him on to greater effort.
Thank you muchly!!!!
I've never hunted a Stone or even seen one in person living in Ontario my whole life but they are such amazing animals and yours looks amazing I hope I get a chance to have one on my wall one day!..
Great Job! All your trophies look top notch in my books!
I am really proud of this stone sheep , having taken so many attempts and all of them self done hunts never used nor could afford a guide..just was in the right spot @ the right time ..and for once made the shot when I needed to..
Steven..
actually this ram NEEDS to be seen he shows waaaaaay better than poor photo with a flash..
