200gr bullet in a 308

I'm using a 30" benchmark barrel chambered for VLD bullets. But still I would rather be a little under then a little over the safety margin

What is the OAL of your current seating depth/bullet combo? Measure from bottom of case to tip of bullet.

Most FTR set ups are single feed only and the OAL looks more like a 30-06. We have a lot more case volume for more fuel.

If yours is similarly long and you are ok with shorter brass life, throttle up. You should be able to approach 2600fps.... tuning will be much fussier at this level.

I'm getting just a hair over 2600 in a 31 inch Benchmark barrel using 215 hybrids. I plan on trying a different powder when it becomes more available and time permits.

Using vit powders I had my 22" barrel 308 shaping the 208's at about 2600-2650. Not bad, but I didn't play around with it enough. Went back to my 175 Berger load and varget.
