I finally have little free time, so here we go again folks. Last years shoot was a gong show. Between the rain, snow, trailer fires and later exploding rifles it'll be hard to beat!

All the gruesome details are in the sticky at the top of the page but this thread is about the planning stages for next years shoot. I'm looking foward to any and all input from those who attended the last two years and those who might be interested in coming out the next time around. For the last two years we schedualed the shoot in June and both times we were screwed by the weather. This time around it was suggested to book things a little later. Say July? Perhaps the snow will skip us and we can progress to either the Great White Combine or a tornadoe. Both will be fun, we can just hide in Tripalms basement.

What I'm looking for here folks are ideas and opinions. What would everyone like to see, what dates are good and any other suggestions would be appreciated. I will say this, in the two years we had this event I have met some other members and some of the very best folks I ever had the pleasure of meeting. It was a honour to share a camp with you all. Anyone interested in coming I assure you the quality of the people you will meet is second to none.

So lets have it folks, what do you have to say?

I want to attend next time. This year I forgot the dates and booked some work. :slap:

In Saskatchewan we do have quite a few days without snow every summer, so hopefully you can pick one of those. July and August are definitely a safer bet than June.

Well after the really cool and outrageously expensive prize I recieved for travelling the farthest (3622km return) last year (actually a really nice Grohman folder donated by the CSSA) I am definately in for another trip out there........I will be holding a powersaw sharpening seminar for those of you who have never seen a real tree.......I may possibly be convinced or persuaded into bringing a saw with more horsepower than beritel's car for a demo as well....lol

I would be down for any weekend it's held.

I'm disappointed I didn't make out this June; well, maybe not THAT disappointed. :)

Iam in as always, date doesn't bother me but a super long weekend would make it better for sure, At least if it is super long there is time for rain / snow / hail / tornado & then still time for shooting ghophers, meeting the people is always a positive experience especially when there a little tipsy....

I missed this year as I ended up getting booked out east. Kinda worked out ok since the last one turned out to be such a mess. July long weekend would be cool.

I like the idea of a late June shoot. Since we have a long drive every year I'd like to see an event of 4 days or more. The sweet prizes were a nice touch this year. So far we've had a ton of fun both years, rain, fire, snow, explosions be damned.

The only thing that I can think of that would be really nice is some sort of semi-permanent shelter in the camp area. Since the weather likes to surprise us it would be nice to have a larger area for people to keep dry and warm. I'm bringing more tarps next year.

How about everyone chip in and we rent one of those big event tents?

I'm in, I like the idea of a later date in June (despite the fact that I've finally got enough cold weather gear together to withstand a SasK. summer) and I'll be happy to chip in for a large tent, it'd be one way to guarantee good weather. And put us (CSSA) down for some bling for prizes/giveaways. Question with the all summer assault on this area this year, will there be any squeeks left for 2010??

I think my wife will let me go again :D

Squeak populations are down a bit, but we have barely touched the land we are allowed to use :D

Ernie and Kelly are still out shooting and killing squeaks....they just wont go away :D

yes good idea, i still have a mountain of .223 i can pull apart and reload, just need a new rifle, sometime in the new year. thinking CZ......and maybe some sort of semi auto .22, like that umarex AR15 clone that is non restricted.....

I've always wanted to do my part and help fight the gopher problem.
I should be back from Korea by then and will be anxious to get back behind the trigger. Saskatchewan is also the only province I've never visited so Im definitely in, anytime, anywhere.

Does that mean I'll win the award for 'farthest distance travelled'?

That title/award also gives you the opportunity to bring beer for everyone:)

In that case I for one hope to see you there......lol

1 case per hundred kms travelled = Welcome to the camp!

Jason, you forgot about how heavy Kevin303 hit the beer last year! And if you recall at our meeting we decided to up the ante to TWO cases per hundred kilometers!!

I hope I can get some .204 reloading stuff soon...I went through about 1000 rounds this summer :D :D
