2010 Nationals Website

Figured I would ask here as I am sure others are wondering the same thing for booking flights and such. Is this going to be set up like last years Nationals with dedicated RO's (squads patching and brass etc.) or a work and shoot type match.

We are looking into having dedicated CRO's.

There will be a work requirement for competitors.

More info will be posted in the next week or two.

There will be a work requirement for competitors.

Can you please be more specific, how much work will be required, especially for those who don't have the RO rank. Some of us will be on a tight schedule and it would change things a lot. Thanks in advance.

I would imagine competitors can expect to be available for all the days of the match. Nothing different than normal.

Looking at the registration form,it looks like there is only 1 day of actual shooting(an AM and then a PM) out of the 3 days that the match is on?
That would be the usual schedule. 200+ competitors shooting 16+ stages with approx. 300 rounds takes a fair bit of time. There's only so much daylight in a day.

I don't remember any such requirement on last year's Nationals.
In fact, I was very happy to have a day for myself to fit in other activities. I would imagine many people would in our busy age.

I guess I am still trying to convince myself that I should go... Unfortunately it doesn't seem like stars aligning in my favor.

BTW, are the match CRO's will not be paying the match fee? Or it is different in West part of the Canada?

Mailed in my registration today, working out the rest of the details shortly. How long of a drive is it from yvr?

Mines in the mail too. Hotel and flight booked. :dancingbanana:

I hope there will be a location to have ammo shipped to. I don't want to have to try and fly with it again.:bangHead:

I mean expect to be available for all 3 days as the shooting order and squads likely won't be published until after most of you will have wanted to book your flights and hotels. Asking the match officials to consider your needs when setting the match up is not really fair. The match is 3 days, you might get one, you might get one and half off, you might not. But you won't know until, at best, the few weeks before the match. So plan accordingly.
Also please don't forget that there is likely going to be an Angus Hobdell taught course on Aug 2nd and 3rd at Thompson. I'm just ironing out the final details with him right now. So if you're interested don't be jumping the shark just yet.

Does that mean that Angus will be participating into the nationals too?

I'd be very interested in seeing the outcome of the Production Division if he does. I assume last years winner, I think his name was Jean (forgive me if I'm wrong), will be there. Considering the margin he won by, he should give Angus a real run for his money.

JP will likely be shooting SD by then. It is most likely Angus will shoot the match if he is here for a course.
