2010 Sask Draws are out

GRiNGo and his pa and a friend of ours and myself got drawn for mule deer in zone 10. I haven't got to hunt there since 2002. There was a ton of bucks there then, I hope it is the same now. I got the TC Encore all lined up and ready to get some smoke in my eyes:D
I never got drawn for moose but this was my first time applying so I can't be too upset. I'll still get to go in the regular moose season anyway.
I've already prepared my wife for becoming a hunting widow. If there is no shutdown at work I'll be gone from the 15th of Sept till the 29 for archery moose then get home and wash the clothes and grab the muzzle loader and head down around Cabri for a week of muzzle loading mulies starting on Oct 1.
I love hunting season:dancingbanana:

In years like this, it just means I have more time for different hunting activities. With no serious big game to be concerned about bagging, I can hopefully get in some bird hunting too.

How blessed are we in Saskatchewan that we can have too much hunting to do that we actually have to schedule different hunts?

It's amazing! I sat down last night and looked at the calendar.

Archery mule deer and upland in September, along with Antelope archery (probably just scouting).

Geese and ducks in October plus muzzleloader antelope and whitetail... plus some more upland.

Then rifle antelope and whitetail in November, with some upland tossed in as well.

My work is getting in the way of my hunting.

...

SERM offers you six zone choices. My advice, select all six. Better to hunt somewhere, than nowhere.

That's how I do it. I only started hunting in my late thirties. I won't live long enough to catch up. I don't turn down hunting opportunities because they aren't in my favourite zone. To those that do, thanks, for leaving me more game - I need all the chances. Hope you get enough of what you want. :)

While I certainly understand having a favourite spot to hunt elk, moose, mulies, etc., by choosing different zones one can discover new areas of great (or not-so-great) hunting in this vast province.

I'd love to hunt off my porch, but given our lottery system, I'm willing to put on some miles and scout new zones.

Especially for moose which is getting damn near impossible to shoot outside of the call season....
