Alright boys and girls, it's that time of year again. We have schedualed the shoot to take place over the Canada day weekend, Thursday July 1st thru Sunday July 4th. The last two years we tried June but the weather simply didn't co-operate so were hoping that a little later shoot will bless us with better weather.

Please use the poll above to indicate your intentions on participation this year. Please be advised that this will be a first come, first serve deal. Anybody indicating they will participate will get the first invite closer to the date. Anybody indicating they may attend will be put on the back up list and again the chance to attend will be provided if anybody backs out. This is in place to ensure we do not have too many shooters and only qualifies if we exceed that limit.

The shoot takes place in Southern Saskatchewan near the town of Tompkins. We are on privately owned property and we require any attendees to respect that fact. The land owner graciously allows us to not only use his fields, but provides a camping area and toilet facilities. You are required to be self sufficiant for the duration of your stay. There are no water or electrical hook-ups. Also provided is a fire pit. The one request I ask is for each attendee to bring a small supply of fire wood for group use. We all enjoy the fire pit, but having enough wood may be an issue. Most places like Canadian Tire and gas stations provide fire wood, so finding it is fairly simple.

As mentioned, we are on private property. Plan to bring any garbage out with you that you bring in. You will need to bring your own food and water, toiletries and so on. If the past two years are any indication, the weather can go from warm and sunny to snow in no time. Be prepared for anything to make yourself more comfortable. We are shooting gophers, and the land owner allows the use of rimfires, centerfires and shotguns. If there's any questions as to what you can bring, PM myself or Captain2K_CA for additional info. Around the farm and camp area, please keep all your firearms unloaded at all times and please be aware of your targets and surroundings. This is a working farm, with people, livestock, buildings and equipment. Know your target and what is beyond. Any shooting done with high powered rifles is to be done by firing away from the direction of any farm/camp. If in doubt, don't shoot.

If we have too many people in attendance, we may break people up into groups and send them in different directions. There is alot of land, but we need to keep everyone safe. However we are not babysitters and accept no responsibility for any injuries. Be safe out there, know where your fellow hunters are and everybody will have a great, safe weekend.

Around camp feel free to indulge in any beverage you choose, but keep it in camp. Also I'm affraid we cannot allow anyone under the age of 18 to attend without written permission from a parent or gaurdian. Futhermore, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18, also with written consent if that person is not their legal gaurdian. Pet's and children are welcome but must remain under your control at all times. You are soley responsible for their safety.

If there are any other questions please feel free to post them in here and we will do our best to address them as quickly as possible. If you agree to our terms, feel free to use the poll option above that best reflects your intentions. I'm sorry to sound like a hard ass, but we just want everyone to have a good time and go home safe. Alright folks, lets get things rolling. You have around six months to plan time off and get things organized, plenty of time to plan on attending. We have the best people you will ever meet in this camp, and it truely has been a pleasure to share it with them. And it's great to meet new people and put faces to those screen names. Plan on coming out, it really is a great time. :)

Damn!! I'm working till July 2, [College Instructor] then have the rest of the summer off. Sounds like the chosen weekend will be short for me, so looks like I'm a no-show. Eagleye.

I wouldn't miss it for the world!! (maybe the 13-year old as well, depending on his grades!)

BTW...first person to complain it's too hot gets a bag of ice in their sleeping bag!! :)

I'm in! Going to bring some different sleeping accommodations this time (non-flammable if I'm anywhere near the trailers apparently), but you can count on me and Rhino being there.

Oh, and I'll have some new Tacti-kewl stuff too. Make that LOTS of tacticoooool.

Just rolls off your tongue doesn't it...taaaak-tiiii-kooooooooollllllllll.

Do you mean to shoot with or to camp with?

For the "camping" part: Rhino, generator, coffee maker, beer can mortar (if I don't forget it again) and if you'd like I'll have room for lots of extra water (a solar shower might be nice if it doesn't freeze up solid) and will bring a quarter cord of wood or so. My big tarp should still be there and I'll be bringing another one (or two) and a couple of poles just in case.

For shootin' it'll be a tactikewl 10/22 .22LR, takticool Tavor .223 and tac-tea-koool 77/17 in .17HM2. And a fuddy shotgun if I can bring myself to stoop that low.

probably tenting again, woul love to haul my camper out, but the gas bill would kill me. for guns i'm bringing mah Tikka M55 Varmint in .223, Mossberg 146b in .22LR, and Marlin 917VSF in .17hm2. maybe the 20 guage A-5 and clay thrower, if i can figure out a way to lure gophers onto it. hopefully a .264 win mag as well, just to practice for this falls antelope hunt. on the topic of speed goats, if we did a whole pronghorn over the fire, and ate all of it so as not to leave any evidence, did a crime really happen?:D my partner will be bringing a Rem 700 HB .223, Rem 700 6.5x55 and some sort of .22LR. counting down the days, only 181 sleeps to go!
