2011 CGN Saskatchewan Gopher Shoot primer thread. Starts over at post 538.

I bumped into someone whom may be interested in putting up with my grumpy self as a right-seater for the 3-4 days of driving that are involved each way so the odds of me showing up with the MRA have just increased. Please leave 2 slots open for myself and my eventual "partner" for the time being. I have requested the time off from my employer and will know in about a month from now wether I got the dates I wanted for vacation time or not.

The last hurdle will be the budget, final decision on wether or not I make the drive will be taken within the last 2 weeks before the event.

There are actually 2 lakes within a hour of the shoot that has decent fishing... Lake Diefenbaker & another fishing lake that the name escapes me on. I have fished both with some decent luck.. though I doubt you want to pay the non-res fishing licence for a day of fishing.. shooting gopher is more fun anyway

There is Lac Pelletier,Duncairn Dam, and Sask Landing about 1-1.5 hours away, and if you want there is a trout pond just south of Gull Lake, and a pond with tonnes of Pike just Northwest of Gull lake ;)

I was thinking the same thing after you mentioned that there was a couple of decent places to fish last time. At first I kicked myself for not bringing a rod just in case, but then it donned on me that I would be paying money NOT to shoot gophers. Which is the reason I drove 5 hours on the first place ( Well, half the reason anyway)...
 
I MIGHT!!! Be able to scrounge up a couple of FRESH TROUT if someone wanted to do a bit of fishing ;) I cant say where exactly....other than someone Ernie knows has a stocked dugout full of trout...and he MIGHT be allowed to go get a few.....perhaps.
 
We now have reached our maximum number of shooters. Anyone who has spoken up to either myself or Captain2K has their spot reserved, this included anyone who has used the confirmed spots in the poll or has contacted us and asked to be moved up.

From here on in no other members will be considered until those who have confirmed they will be there drop out of the running and open up a spot. When that happens those spots will be filled first come first served. We ask anyone who has said they will come and no longer wishes to do so speak up early allowing others the chance at your spot.

Anyone else can contact Captain2k or myself via PM at a later time, but please don't expect us to hold a spot for you. You must speak up after an opening becomes available. The list of names is as follows. Thank you for your intrest.

If there is anybody I missed please contact me and I'll update the list. Now for the part where I slap your pee pee. Anybody who confirms a spot but doesn't attend on the weekend of the shoot or indicate they will not attend, freeing up their spot for someone else will be bumped if they choose to sign up next year. It's just common courtesy, if you can't come, let others have a shot at it. Thank you for your understanding.

I have a list of all those on the list including those who posted they may come. If any of those individuals are interested speak up and they will get priority, but still on first come, first serve basis provided any members drop out.
 
As much as I would like to meet all you nutz I prefer hunting alone or with one or 2 friends. Draggin a trailer to Sask on a long weekend isn't my idea of fun compared to parking it with a view of waterton. This new spot sounds to good to be true, new campground, off the beaten track, according to my contact there are a couple of TOWNSHIPS of squeak infestations.:eek: If this is the case some of us might want to hookup in early season for some day trips or 1 niters. I'll keep ya'll posted, don't mind sharing the fun if theres enough room and lots of shooting to be done.:D

Gopher shooting

I am still up in the air for coming down and I am not sure anyone wants me parked besides them anyways!:D I didn't think I was that stinky!

I want to shoot some around Lethbridge this year as well. I just have to find a spot! Hint, Hint!

C'mon greg you know ya want to......sides won't be as much fun without you there while I'm tellin MY version of the great fire of 2009.......besides i wanna see Dom shootin that rifle.....See ya there
