so fellow winnipeggers, is there anyone willing to split the cost and driving with me? my original partner can't make it. i'm planning on bringing an 14 ft camper with accomodatios for two. near as i can figure round trip cost for food gas and what not will about $450 each to play it safe. any takers?

Well, set up the tent trailer today to air out after her winter sleep. No mouse damage and no leaks...bonus.
Found our local Co-op had 500rnd bricks of winchesters on for $14.99 so I got the last 4. Too bad that's all they had.
On the downside, my bronco II developed a head gasket leak that I have to get fixed up before the shoot or I'll have to take my gas guzzling explorer all the way to thomkins at 14mpg.
I'll be leaving here on the 30th hopefully by noon and going home on the 5th if that's ok with the landowner. If anyone needs a lift or wants a bunk, I have room for 1 or 2.

Can I bring a buddy along? and when do we get a map?

This looks like it should be a good time. Just wish I had seen this thread sooner (I've been without internet for the past little while). Good luck and happy hunting!

Thinking I might bring the 6mm for some field testing. I'll leave the 45-70 at home though. A couple 22's and the .17 and maybe a 12 guage and a thrower if any one wants to do some skeet.

I honestly don't think some clays will be a problem.. I am sure we could find a spot to shoot a few... I was planning on bringing one or 2 shot guns this year as well... the .17 & .22's (I have a couple .22's I want to try out)

I just wish I could find some .22 win auto ammo to try one gun my father in law gave me...

Well my prospective shotgun drivers both cancelled ... One seat available driving in from Quebec, taking off either monday or tuesday, coming back the next either thursday or friday.

Bad news for me.......I have to bow out as I just transfered to Clearwater Bc and the dates for time off are already booked...........what a downer.........On the bright side I was out shooting gophers here this morning, Definately not the same volume of whislepigs BUT i was out makin the pink mist.

Really wish I was able to come this year BUT come Jan first my holidays will be booked for nex year..

Have fun guys

and post lotsa pics

Dave

I'm trying to get my buddie to commit but it would be a last minute deal but if we say we're coming WE'RE COMING but it will be my second trip as we're heading to the SW corner of Sask. May28 for a week then my friend has a sporting clays shoot the end of July north of Saskatoon somewhere followed by a couple more days of gophers in the S.W. and your shoot in smack dab in the middle, plus fishing and golf I'm sure glad I'm retired.....Kevin you still at WSS ? if so I'll make a point of looking for you for a chat instead of Dennis and/or Graham...............Cleve Olson

Kevin's still at WSS and I believe he is looking for someone to share the ride to the shoot.

I'm sure looking forwards to this year's shoot. We're getting close to ready having bought a new camper, some toys for the guns and more reloading tools so I do volume loading more easily. Now I just have to load 600 .204 Ruger and some .223 and we're set.

I have high hopes for the weather this year. Winnipeg has been beautiful. It looks like there will be even more shooters this year and that definitely equates to more fun. Shooting is only half of why we make the trip. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys.
