.22 Guy here and I will try and get up there next year*from Toronto* the Via Rail lets you brings guns but not ammo may have to ship some up or buy it there whats the prices at the local stores ? hmmm . Also how far is this from SASKATOON ?.

About 350 kms. You'd be better off going to Regina, I'm sure the Via goes there. Not a lot shorter, but there may be someone heading down #1.:) Either that or get dropped off in Melville and I'm sure you can get a ride.

Hey, what about after haying? Usually the weather is nicer in August, and the grass will be short. Just an idea. We may have to hit up some neighbors next year, the gophers around camp were flighty after the first day and if you didn't bring a centerfire you were pretty much out of luck. Mind you, Ryan and I found a spot where you could get 'em with a shotgun :)
Princess and I made a few contacts while we were there. From the sounds of things, everyone down there wants their gophers shot.

Looks like I missed out. Me aqnd a buddy have been thinkin aboot assasinating some gophers and looks like we missed out on a partay. Is this something that I can just go out and do or do I need to hire a guide or something. I NEED to kill some gophers

You are right, definitely have to get into reloading. Have 4 Boxes of cartridges to get me started at least.

I love the rifle though. Rem 700 Monte Carlo stock/heavy barrel. Really nice condition. Think I'm going to switch the scope to the .22Mag, and get a new one for the 6mm.

The .22Mag turns out to be a Marlin 57m. Short stroke lever. Its pretty bad ass.

Oh man, I want it to be spring already, so bad. :D

I'm in London and am definitely interested in going, maybe you and I can organize something and go down together?
