HEY HEY HEY! my bum stayed out of the fire last year, the side of my camper ended up slightly dented, but otherwise i think i wasn't too much of an ass.

So it turns out I dont have to work the Kanada day weekend this year.:D
So, I'll be out on friday afternoon.

This is all I really can't wait for gopher season! It gives me something to look forward to with all this damn snow on the ground right now!

I have a source for about 1000 cedar fence posts that would make great fire wood. I will see if its still available after break up. I'll throw a bunch in if I can.

What has to be done the weekend before? just clean up, etc...

Don't forget a plan for a "sturdier" shelter this year.

Any thoughts?

Maybe like this? We need a source for poles though.

Not going to reserve a place like last year, but I did request vacation time to cover the window. Will advise if I can make it or not, it depends on my partner being able to free himself for the 8 day or so window required. If I do make it I won't require anything more than a parking space.

Well I plan on bringing some tools and nails this year. I could throw some lumber in the truck for a new shelter but I'll have a new item on the back thing up space, plywoods out for me to carry. Erin, please blind yourself for this. Let's come up with some idears and maybe we can throw somthing together in a couple of hours. I'll build the deck.

Rob, let us know what happens.

LMFAO.......I'll bring what I can........saw and files are definately going in the dry box.....

Just need some 16' 2x4's, 2x6 or 2x8, or log poles & tarps for a shelter, it don't need to be fancy, just somewhere to keep the rain off, let smoke out & not collapse in the wind.

That's what I mean Toxic, the 2x4's came down quick last year, but that was probably a fluke. I should be able to round up some timber for this year.

Needed a better frame is what things came down quick. The 2x4's should be no more than 3' apart. The main vbeam should be at least a 3ply 2x6. need to build it so we can leave it up after the weekend is done.

We're on the same page here. All we need to do is collectively come up with materials.

I couldn't make these events in the past but had really wanted to attend.
this year is a little different and i could see myself being able to spend several days on stop over if it's only 4 hours east of calgary. Am planning a road trip to ontario and south to daytona, back across to suth dakota , then back to b.c. interior and will be bringing a couple of my rifles ;)
sorry if there is a post with all this info but.....
camping?
dog friendly? (rottweiller, socialized and well behaved, leashed always ;) )
dates to be there?
caliber restrictions?
can't think of anything else off the top of my head
please p.m. me or answer here. I don't get the chance to do much real long distance shooting at itty bitty furry critters :D and i'd love to test out a few M14 type rifles i've built up..... and tho expensive...... maybe my 7mm mag LOL

camping?
Primitive campsite...no hookups.

Dogs are ok, but your responsibility! The landowner has livestock, and dogs, and some of the others that come have dogs as well.

dates to be there?
We are planning on Canada day long weekend again...Day earlier and later are no problem :)

caliber restrictions?
As long as you are safe with the firearms, theres no issues :) And no shooting the big guns near the yard :)

Pharaoh is gonna have a new sticky started up in a bit...This year we are going to be Invitational. We pretty much already know who is coming for sure....and then will see who else we have room for :)
