2011 CGN Saskatchewan gopher shoot. Thanks to everyone for coming!

We'll be there again if course.. no idea if I will have a guest or not.

Don't know if I'll have the rv or not again this year.

As for the shelter, I have a design in my head, just need to see what we will have for material tio build it.

After much deliberation Rob and I have decided that it would be an excellent idea to acquire a beater car and build 'THE GOPHER GITTER' !!

Any suggestions? We are planning several gun racks. Will seat at least 4. Perhaps a mounted gun? We are undecided weather or not to cut the roof off. Obviously no roof would be better but we all know what the weather is like...

I'll be driving my jeep and if weather permits I'll be runnin her topless
standing in the back , the roll bar makes a perfect rest :D

Just over the hill from me........we should meet for Timmies next time I'm over that way

for sure, shoot me a p.m. when yer gonna be in town ;) Timmies is about 30 minutes from me and i NEVER need an excuse to make that trip hehehehe .... so glad there is timmies here in town LOL

My time off is booked. Will see you all there!

Well.... I might see you guys if I'm not blinded by hordes of Mosquitoes.... I went home last year looking like I had Small Pox.... =P

Jax and I plus undetermined (set to be born in the next few days) will be there again this year. I'll bring a cordless screw gun plus I have a ton of 3" screws. Lumber's a bit tough for us to bring but if the need is great enough we'll find a way.

That 50 gallon water tank sounds great Harv. Maybe someone has a water pump we can use to fill and shower with. As for the shelter (we really do need something robust) I'll bring what tarps I have but we're going to need some substantial lumber. Last year the 2x4s turned into flying debris pretty damn quick. It's too bad that the area doesn't have any stands of pine we could harvest. If someone from Winnipeg has the room I have a ~20' length of 2x4 1/8" steel I'll donate. I can't fit that on my truck/trailer.

I was thinking we could build a frame, lets say 15' square or so, by using the tractor to drive 4x4 posts into the ground and top it with a hip roof frame. Cover it with tarps and leave an opening at the peak for smoke. I'm no architect so maybe someone else has a better idea. Best to plan ahead so we can bring the correct materials.
