2011 Norinco headspace

Today I got out my Stoney Point headspace measuring tool. I measured 11 fired cases.

These cases were fired in my 2011 Norinco M305.

These cases measured 1.632" from the datum line of the shoulder to the cartridge case head.

I checked with the Fulton Armory website and there it says that 1.632" is ideal headspace for the 7.62 NATO chamber.

Keep in mind that every rifle is unique. Yours might be different from mine. You have to measure.

The Stoney Point headspace tool is now sold by Hornady and it is an inexpensive yet valuable tool. And you use it together with an inexpensive dial calipers.

You can measure your rifle's headspace quite easily.
