Had a blast at Homestead.

Just as I did in Winnipeg last year and presume to have in Saskatchewan next year.

Where to begin?:
- The great electric razor shave off
- The jury still being out on the shooting effectiveness vs. taxation reform planning of "Plan R"
- Determining the best bullet able to "cut the wind"
- Garlic sausage smores
- Explosives, fertility, monster trucks and nudity: The Edmonton connection
- Ju-Jube scavenger hunt, wet towels and other failed plots
- Finding out that a winter emergency blanket does work to keep a prairie kid warm during an foothill "summer" night
- Making the ultimate fire poker: Hook or no hook? Broken umbrella? Or anything but what I brought to the fire?
- Aggregates? We can calculate our own aggregates! Or can we?
- The lead sled vs. Nightforce / PGW action debate

Oh yeah, I think there may have been some awesome shooting as well.

The people, the tales, the knowledge swap makes this event invaluable to me.

While at the same time, the crazy prize table makes it valuable (Thanks to Jerry Teo of Mystic Precision for another free Shilen match barrel)

Huge thanks to the hosts, the organizers, the sponsors, the founders, the competitors, the volunteers and the target pullers.

And if you haven't come to one of these yet and/or are new to the FClass sport. Save your pennies, book your vacation time, these events will be some of the funnest and most rewarding outings you'll participate in.

PS - the guy who won the grand prize is indeed Abe. A F-Open member of the Manitoba Provincial Rifle Association.

Thanks for clearing that up Sean....my mistake on the classification as well. Par for the course for me...LOL

I assume then that A.Sengmany is Abe? (I deduced this from the fact that there was only ONE name that started with A in the Open class.....pretty hard to fool us BC boys)

Hope to see you in Sask next year (or possibly sooner if your attending the SPRA Prov's).

It took 7 guys, 2 cases of beer and an Iphone to accomplish this great feat......I would say we can.....but just barely above Kindergarten copmprehension.

But did you get it right??? I was catching some grief for not posting the Day 2 Agg ... but thought you'd need something to keep you occupied during the night, rather than star gazing!

Psst - Terry P took 2nd FTR, Gerry 3rd FTR.

Thanks Bill,

Fixed that :)

It may have been the two thirty pack of beer, but i don't think the bottle of Jack Daniels was alot of help on our quest!! Thank's Sean.

Yes it was a good time and I feel very humbled by the winds. I am not normally at the top of the board but, first days score aside, not so low as I did this weekend.
For those that were not there halfway through the first relay of the first day I blew the extractor out of my rifle and did not finish the relay, finished the day with a borrowed rifle.
Some of you may recall last year in Winnipeg someone had a Remington extractor quit and I loaned him one to finish the match. What goes around comes around, this year I had an issue with my extractor and several people came to my rescue. I learned the hard way what happens when you put a primer in backwards with a Savage rifle and thought I was done for the weekend but Gerry, Frank and Henry combined to keep me shooting, Thanks again guys.

The 2011 Western Canada F-Class Championship was by all accounts a huge success, just as the first one was in Winnipeg last year. We succeeded in attracting a strong competitive element from western Canada, we attracted new shooters to the sport, we had strong support from our suppliers, and most important, we had a good time, made new and stronger friendships and had a lot of laughs along the way!

Our primary sponsor was Prairie Gun Works Defence Technologies Inc., and we were well represented by local businesses and well known international suppliers. We wish to acknowledge the support from the following suppliers, with a heartfelt 'thank you':

In turn, we ask that you please support our sponsors. It’s amazing to note that the prize table value exceeded $12,000. I’m certainly looking forward to next year’s Western Canada Regional at the Northstar Range at Nokomis, SK.

Rick - one of our match committee members contacted Nightforce directly and they submitted a 50% coupon to you as an Alberta dealer. You receive a full dollar sale on a Nightforce scope. What was your contribution?

The reason the 50% off certificate is ONLY redeemable at ATRS is that I agreed to split the cost of the scope with NF. The way the coupon works is who ever received it only pays 50% of the scopes price, the other 50% of the scopes price is paid for by ATRS and NF.

Congrats to everyone on some great shooting, wish I could have made it out there.

CyaN1de, has anyone ever told you that you look like Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs? lol
