Well, it looks very promising that I willbe once again in South Africa in March. Yes, it is early hunting but I have been there before and done well on game. The next trip I will be bringing beside my DT10L shotgun for the Pan African, my 375HH Sako Manlichter loaded with 300 Gr Partitions (cloverleaf groups at 100M) and my SSK barreled TC Contender in 45-70 for under 100 yard shots. I used 300 Gr partitions on game in NA over 25 years with the SSK with great results. I will look into new bullets for this hunt. Any suggestions?

Henry;)

Partitions are great over there, TSXs a bit better, you're well set up and I wouldn't change a thing. If my .475 Linebaugh Freedom Arms revolver had of made it into Canada before I was last over in October (Limpopo) I would have carried it, probably would have got to use it on a Warthog too. Next time. :)

Have fun, nothing like Africa as you know.

I used 270gn TSX in my 375 last oct when in Zambia and they worked flawlessly in my
.375. My 700 likes these bullets and will shoot Mickey Mouses all day at 100 mtrs. I use these because they penetrate well (right through 2 big bull hippo heads) and yet seem devastating on lighter game too. (impala, leopard, puku)
Good hunting, and like Ardent says "no place like Africa"
