Any Canadian clubs interested to participate in 2012 Classifier International Marathon postal IPSC matches?

Here is the match dates for 2012:

February 25-26, 2012 - Handgun
April 21-22, 2012 - Shotgun
November 24-25, 2012 - Rifle
December 15-16, 2012 - 3gun

let me check with the groundhog.

The Feb 25-26 match is also our Multigun match but that is all outdoors so it might provide a chance for people to shoot both not to mention WARM up both litterally and figuratively.


The Dec dates for 3 gun are a tad tough weather wise.
 
Local clubs willing to participate will have to setup stages and run matches on given dates and then submit results within 24h after match completion.

Marathon's shedule:
- handgun,

stages: CLC-61, CLC-59, CLC-17, CLC-13

- shotgun,
dates: 21-22.04.2012
stages: under construction

- rifle,
dates: 24-25.11.2012
stages: under construction

- trigun,
dates: 15-16.12.2012
stages: under construction

Procedure of participation will be published from 15.01.2012

As it stands, the international postal match will need to be revised. We cannot use Classifiers that are Virginia Count. I put the question to Vince Pinto, and this was his response.

Vince Pinto on GV (1 Jan 2012) said:
Virginia Count is dead, and Classifiers using VC will no longer be valid. If not already gone, they will be removed from the IPSC website.

Any club would be free to do any portion. There is/was no cost in participating.

EESA did the handgun in 2010 but only the shotgun in 2011.

This year we are considering trying to fit the entire series in our schedule.

It is great fun.

I think we were the only non European Club to participate so it would be nice to see more Canadians partake.

As to the VC stages..........gee it almost seems as if the Exec council never really considered the impact of their ill thought decisions. Will wonders never cease.

I believe I booked the indoor, 85 and 100 ranges for the Multigun Polar match...for the 25-26 feb. weekend

My thinking being that since the indoor range can only be used for handgun.........we could consider using these stages for the handgun component.

The run and gun mulitgun can run outside.


Of course with the stage mix up the whole issue might be toast.

We will have to have the EESA group discuss it at the next shoot

Important information on the handgun part of CIM-2012!
Due to changes in the IPSC handgun rules, including cancelling Virginia count, classifier exercises involving this type of count, are abolished. Therefore, we approved new list of exercises for the handgun part of Marathon:

- CLC - 35
- CLC - 41
- CLC - 59
- CLC - 73

Please note this information.

Further latest information on the match will be published on the new official site of the Marathon at www.cim2010.org
