2012 catalogue

btt

Can anybody get a picture of the Alaskan posted here. I can't access the winchester website with the security settings at the mine where I am working.

Seems nothing on the internet yet. WSS Nanaimo and Island-Outfitters here in Victoria have one store-copy only so far. Will see if one of them will photocopy it for me. Stock had slight Monte-carlo cheek-rest like the original. The 25" barrel is same profile as original with rearsight "saddle" and flip-up type rearsight! I'm sure the catalogue will suddenly appear online any day.

Thanks Geoff.
I work at a gold mine and can't access most gun manufacturer sites due to the internet security policy. I won't be able to access the winchester site until December 21 when I get home. Really hoping to get a look at one because I love my .06 supergrade and have been wanting a .338 for a long time now.

2012

Contacted a dealer in the U.S. who mentioned the 2012 Alaskan on his site. This was his reply:
"Hello Geoff, all we have received ourselves is a sample of the catalog so if you were at the store I could show the picture but it would be a general picture.
We are able to start ordering them in the next couple of months but new models usually don’t arrive until summer or after".

So I guess we'll have to wait a bit.

Winchester and other firearms manufacturers will hold most of their information about new product until after the Las Vegas Shot Show 17-20 Jan 2012. Photos and info will be available everywhere from then on.

The Jack O'Connor Custom Tribute looks VERY nice!

Edit - and the Featherweight is now available in .257 Roberts - good news. Hopefully the 7x57 will be next!

Looks good, except for the 25" bbl. 24" would have been plenty, preferably even a 22". No stainless/synthetic Alaskan? That's a bit strange.
It's nice to see some guns with open sights coming back.

They do have the stainless/laminated version. It looks like nostalgia is the name of the game.

Perhaps Remington will bring some nostalgia back by re-introducing quality and old style 700 BDLs. :D

Hey, wait a minute, it is the Remington 700's 50th birthday this year!
