There is no official word on the access to the range for next week-end's match.

Last reliable information was that there was water across the road, much like downtown Calgary and the rest of southern Alberta. Hwy 68 is reported closed. The BTSA range itself is not expected to be a concern, the access to the range is a major concern.

Considering that it is not even possible to drive along a major road from one end of Calgary to the other end then there is no way to determine whether the access to the range will be open in a day, a week or a month.

As soon as we know for sure, we will let people know what is happening. If we can't verify that the access road is open by Monday morning then the match will be postponed/cancelled.

I have the e-mail address that everyone supplied on their registration. That is the method that will be used advise registrants of the status of the match by Monday morning or sooner.

Thanks Ralph, we know you guys are dealing with a lot down there and everyone is under an incredible amount stress, putting a match on is the least of peoples concerns when their families are displaced and their homes are in ruins. God Bless.

It would be a shame to cancel it after all the hours and hours of work put into the match, however sometimes life happens. Thanks for your hard works guys and take care of yourselves first.

Good news!!!!!!!! Ralph emailed everyone this morning, 2013 Alberta IPSC Provincials are on!

Big shout out to Ralph and Joe for there epic hard work and dedication. (Even when there's not a flood)

And if you're able to help out please reply to Ralph's email as there's now alot of extra work to do to pull this off.

This afternoon we managed to get in touch with the powers that be with respect to Homestead Road.

Their plan is to have the road repaired and officially open by Wednesday.

The match is proceeding as scheduled.

well done guys! I will leave this stickied up at the top until the match is over.
If you are going to be doing any fundraising and want it stickied too let me know

For those who missed the earlier post or the e-mails, the 2013 IPSC Alberta Provincial Championship is going to happen as scheduled this week-end.

The access road has been fixed and is in very good condition for a loose gravel road through the forest in the mountains.

Through the support of many people, most of the things that you want to see at a Provincial Championship are in place.

Registration starts at 3:00 pm on Friday in the business centre of the Sandman Inn.

There are 18 stages set up on the range with some final tweaking still required. There have been a few changes from the match copy, but not much more than you would typically see.

(The one change that is disappointing is the removal of the teeter ramp. This ramp had been tested one of the 50 metre bays and it worked fine. The 100 metre bay where the teeter ramp was to be used at the provincials has quite a bit of slope to it. The slope of the ground combined with the teeter to present a potentially dangerous situation - very steep slope and poor traction. The teeter ramp has been replaced with a non-teetering ramp. We did not find out until today, and there is not enough time to get it changed.)

We will be ready for Saturday morning. Will you?

The 2013 IPSC Alberta Provincial Championship has successfully concluded.

Despite the disastrous flooding that occurred in the area one week prior to the match, we had 140 pre-registered competitors plus a walk-on competitor that shot the match (out of the 154 that had pre-registered).

There were 18 stages shot under generally sunny skies with temperatures that were pushing into the upper 20's.

Thanks to everyone who helped build and put on this match under the trying conditions that existed in the Calgary area last week.

Are the results posted anywhere? Glad to hear you guys were able to pull it off under the circumstances.

Posted on the IPSC Alberta website, not sure if it's public though. I don't think anyone will mind if I tell you that I did not win overall Production. ;)
