Wow just Wow. One of my friends showed me this thread. The volunteers for this match have been working since last fall. We have shut down our range for a couple of months so that we can labor to produce a superior match. Some members have raised thousands of dollars in sponsorship so the match could be affordable for all. We have extended our range by a million square feet in order to have adequate shooting bays, and are finishing them by hand with rakes and shovels. None of us are getting a cent, we pay the same entry fee as all competitors. We are doing it because we are hosting the Nationals for our sport. It is hurtful to those who have sacrificed, their time and energy for your leisure activity, that you are unwilling to reciprocate by patching, resetting targets and taking score for a day. That blessing us with your presence here in Dalhousie should be more than sufficient sacrifice on your part to create a great IPSC Canadian Nationals.

It is the largest ever because of the overwhelming response. People anticipated that this would be a great match so they signed up it record numbers and in record time. The organizers are trying their best to allow as many as possible to enjoy this match.largest ever based on what? shouldn't the goal be to host the best rather then the biggest?
So you admit that your claim is false? In order to be right fully called the largest it would have to be a claim based on the quantity of a certain aspect. Most rounds, most stages, most competitors. Any or all of those together do not automatically go hand in hand with quality. If you want the record for sell out time just offer less spots. Letting in too many people can ruin the operation of a match. Happened last year in Vegas at the limited nationals
That's rather rude and disrespectful to say the match is going to be terrible. Think of all the hard work people have put into it.
The MDs have seen many large matches where only a few competitors worked to score and patch.
Yup in have no experience running matches at allso I'm a #### for pointing out how craming too many people into a match is a bad idea and giving an example but you can state that summer slam is better then US nats and expect to be taken seriously? Just because the props and walls look cool doesn't mean the important part of the match will be good.
So, the biggest match (maybe even oversold) and still no squad and workers schedule 3 weeks before match? That is a first sign of potential major disaster to me... The match crew maybe very busy building props and going to a local parades, but failing to communicate to your competitor who paid for the show is one of a good way to screw all the great work that been put in.
It will only be a major disaster for you Eugene, everyone else takes about 5 minutes to make carpooling arrangements.
