I don't believe a word of this! Everyone knows the 270 sucks, and could never bring down a moose. It is not ethical to use a 270 on anything bigger than groundhogs.

I've shot more of my moose with the .270 than with any other caliber and I can tell you it's more than a few. Usually with a 150 Grain cup and core, though.

I may have to give those lighter monometals a try though. Again,nice work and good eating this winter!

I enjoyed the hunting story and photos. Just got my first moose hunt organized with some buddies for Nov 2014. Can't wait! Going to start developing some loads for my 30-06 FN Win 70 with it. Going to try 165gr Barnes TTSXs and 180 gr Hornady Interbonds as I picked up a box of each, with IMR4350. Lets see which shoots better.

Bought my 270 cooper last year and im a a full convert after years of playing the new fangled wsm's etc.
