2014 Canadian Championship of Cowboy Action Shooting Canceled

Due to the closure of the venue where the Championships were to be held this August long weekend, The Alberta Frontier Shootist are forced to announce the cancelation of the event.

The timeline involved with the announced range closure and the closeness of the event, we don't have any opportunity to make arrangements at an alternative sight

All registration money received will be returned asap.

The Alberta Frontier Shootist would like to thank the folks at the Spruce Grove Gun Club for all their hard work & help over the last two years and we are very sorry/distressed over the predicament you find yourselves in at this time.

So do we, The Spruce Grove Gunfighters and the Spruce Grove Gun Club as a whole have been very helpful and accommodating in every way over the last two yrs and don't deserve the crap their getting...politically or internally.

So I guess that all the Cowboy shooters will be finally getting together again that weekend in Saskatoon. Saskatoon isn't Fort Kusk but they put on a kick butt match. Hope you and Santa Maria can make it Doug!

Part of the reason we decided to cancel right away rather than fumble around trying to find an alternative site was to allow shooters to pursue other options before it was too late to get in.

Several AFS members have made alternative plans to either Sask. or Mission. We are considering Sask. but didn't plan on any SASS shoots this year so haven't renewed our memberships yet and Maria's holiday/work schedule are a bit of a bother we are trying to work out. Hopefully we get there.
