2014 IPSC Nationals

If I pay the $500 can I shoot the entire match in one day? How about pop in and out on the weekend and shoot some stages with different squads?

I've requested that I receive the data every couple of weeks from April through June, but it will depend on when I actually receive the updated list of competitors.

You'll probably need to email the match director for this. That question is above my pay grade. ;)

Sent in my application maybe 3 weeks ago - cheque hasn't been cashed yet. Just wondering if my application was received! Should I contact the MD, or someone else? Wouldn't want to pile a email on to what must already be a busy inbox.

Not true, Rob. There have been many Nationals where you have been allowed to walk the stages, but not allowed to activate movers.

I don't know whether or how much of the stages you will be allowed onto prior to the match; I suspect you would be allowed into the shooting areas only, but I don't know for sure.

that would be a first. at least as far as I can remember

I think the only Nationals I shot where it was not allowed was in Brandon. Guess I missed a few years when I was cowboy shooting.

This is a match director thing, not an ipsc rule, right? It's a bad decision because there are always some people that are able to walk it, during set up, ROing etc. When it's open for everyone to see, everyone has the same advantage, whether they choose to use it or not.

Chris, that's why I said "remember", I don't recall being allowed to walk stages previously. I agree with you Ken that is should be allowed, so long as it doesn't mess with those who are shooting.

I do remember a number of matches where we were explicitly told to not be on the stages, but I always thought that those were in the minority. I could be wrong. My memory is also not what it used to be. :)

Personally, I don't see any reason with people walking the stages as long as they stay in the shooting areas. I know that a couple of other people involved with the match feel the same way as well, however, whether people will actually be allowed on the stages will be a decision made closer to the match date.

I blame my painkillers and late night replies for my inability to remember. I know you're right and we've been told at a few, specifically, that we weren't allowed on prior to our squad, but there is a little flash in the back of my mind of being allowed to look at a few others, but I could be confusing with other matches.
