I pre ordered one too a while ago and I got the backorder notice a few minutes after, does it mean thats it's currently on backorder, which technically it is, that when they come in in the summer then I'll have it or does it mean they have sold all the ones coming in this summer and I'm on the backorder list for the next batch coming in? It's confusing...
Did you get the backorder notice for the next batch coming in? I believe the first batch will be here before summer as I just spoke to the vendor I ordered mine from. I believe you still can get on the boat for the first batch if you make some phone call.
But...1:9 twist for Canada?
There's no reason to have 1:9 twist in a DMR, ever.
We will have longer handguards available
Not to derail this thread, but do you have any extra info on the handguards? I love this gun, and have one pre-ordered but the handguards kill the aesthetics for me.
More interested in just the barrel. Will they offer it seperate as the ACR has a quick change barrel system?
Could see that being a popular option to non restrict current ACR rifles.

FWIW, the DMR ACR on the Bushmaster site is says (and shows) that it comes with the MOE polymer handguard.
I emailed wolverine supplies concerning the twist rate and they responded me with a 1:9 twist
I figured out most of you guys have seen the picture so here is a quick impression of the rifle. First of all, the rifle on the rack comes with Geisele trigger. After squeezing the trigger, my guess is that it is a SSA. According to the Bushmuster rep, the G-trigger is standard to the DMR version.
The rifle does have a thick 18.5" barrel. Is it heavy?- hell yeh, but it does balance ok and does not feel front heavy On the other hand, it is not marketed as a run and gun rifle so it is what it is. My only complaint is that the handguard is a bit too short for a DMR rifle. I would like to more have estate so a bipod can be mounted more forwards.
This article by TV-PressPass is saying the DMR is going to be 1:7, where did you hear 1:9 for Canada?

Yes, the configuration dealers have been saying they will be getting is like this:
I'm reading the twist off of page 40 of the Bushmaster 2014 catalog. It's their specs table, and the ACR DMR is the only ACR listed with a 1:7. Everything else has always been 1:9
