How is the area you guys hunt? I havent seen more than a dozen gophers in the pastures that used to burn up 1500 rounds of ammo in a weekend in years past? I wont be able to make the trip for a weekend but just wondering what the general area is like for gopher populations?

None of really know what the population is going to be like as none of us live very close to go scout. I havent had the opportunity to talk to Ernie to ask him what he has seen either. Some years there are swarms, some years there are few. For most of us this isnt about how many we shoot anyway. For the person that is ambitious, there are scads to be found if you look for them. Consider the fact we essentially have many townships of land we can shoot on, you will find gophers.

But I dont have a straight answer for you, as I have not been there yet.

Stopped by farmer harvs last night. Drank his beer. Was trying to talk him into coming out for a few days. Busy guy, but he says he and Gerri will at least make a day trip out

Only a couple weeks to go. We've been starting to get organized. Soon enough we'll be on the road. Getting pretty excited.

I have always given him a couple of boxes too, but I'm out and can't find any around either. I'll have to bring an extra six pack for him this time.

Ack don't remind me! Still have to get trailer home & summarize it. Then sort out & pack. Will have 4 days to do that in. Bear hunting & a fishing trip this weekend in the way!
