2015 Shot Show: CMMG MK 47 Mutant Carbine

5 rounds only with these mags though, I would rather use something that takes 10 round AR Pistol mags. NFA has a petition to lift the mag capacity restrictions and make the AR non restricted. Get the word out and lets try to get rid of these restrictions!!

Galils can use an attachable mag well that takes AR mags.

At one point does a major AR modification become a new firearm?

Interchangeability of fire control components?

Here are some more photos for the rifle from Range Day. I took some more photos on the floor today that I will be able to post tomorrow

Is no one at all interested at the lack of a bolt release or side charging handle? Can't imagine it will be all that fun constantly changing 5 round magazines and having to use an AR charging handle. Isn't the buffer spring heavier than 5.56?

^^Yes, a bolt release would be a nice feature. Maybe they were so focused on beefing up the bolt that this detail escaped the designers thoughts.
I think the Hydra, etc have this feature (while still retaining the use of AK mags). But Hydra apparently has had it's share of problems in the past.

In the end it is a very expensive way to lob crap ammo down range. If you buy decent ammo, then maybe it's worth it.

As a reloader I would as soon buy and reload for a .308AR than reload for an x39 one , if I was to spend that sort of coin on a 30 cal AR

tried to edit my last post, basically, gun got 600 rounds and then had issues that caused FTE on every shot. Could have been the ammo. I know the gun was getting hot and if the ammo had any coating on the cases, it could have gummed it up.

Well, I think it's because they decided to go with unmodified AK mags, which aren't built for to hold open bolts, that they have this problem.

I'd care if we didn't have around a hundred million AR variants available and if it was NR.

good point. To me an AR is an AR is an AR. They're all range toys leased by the government, ready for recall at any time the government decides. We don't own restricted guns, we merely lease them. That's why I don't own expensive restricted, especially rifles. Theres so many cool NR rifles out there, why bother with one limited to a range? If it weren't for handguns I wouldn't even bother with restricted. JMHO.

Let's not make this a political thread, but your attitude plays into the hand of the gun control people who set up the "restricted" class. They have just achieved their gun control intention to "restrict" a firearm to make it less popular by swaying your purchase decision based on their intentional interference.

Sigh, yeah I'm fully aware of that. But the gun does look cool.
