2015 Shot Show: PTG M700 AR-15 Magazine Bottom Metal

Very interesting... Will have to look at more PTG stuff.

Just a heads up, that AR mags have a history of not feeding that well from bolt rifles. I hope this DBM corrects that.

Personally, I am really enjoying the equally priced AICS polymer mags for the 223. Center feed mags which cycle well all the time. Allow for a much longer OAL which I prefer for heavy bullets.

I am mucking with an AR for Service Rifle and the mags are so limiting in what you can do. BUT, they are plentiful and many shooters want AR stuff so...

See what 2015 brings...

Would this work in my blind mag ADL model?
I think I would just need mil out the area in my stock for the bottom metal to go..

If memory serves me correctly, the last time I ordered through PTG I called them and requested USPS. Avoided the Fedex/UPS screw over!
 
Looks great. If they made one that took SR-25 pattern mags I would be all over it. My .308 700 doesn't feed the first round from a full mag very well.

I had a brief email exchange with their Sales Manager, on the subject of whether they are going to expand to other rifles. Salient point is, first the AR-10 mag for the Remington 700. Then other rifles to follow:

We have just completed design on the Rem700 and Rem M7 DBM for AR-15 magazines, and we will be making those models for AR-10 magazines next. We will then continue with all other models such as Winchester, Savage, Ruger etc. I cannot offer a definite timeline on the completion of the Ruger, but we will continue to work through designs for all the different models.

I submitted my order 8 weeks ago and my MasterCard was charged that same day. As soon as I had paid, I received an email that said this:

"This item is currently on back order. Please allow approximately 4 weeks for production.
We will ship USPS Global Priority"

I have heard nothing since. I sent an email last week asking for an update but never got a reply. Anyone having similar issues?

I bought a PTG DBM kit during the Black Friday sales last year. My item was in stock (so it said online but I'm told that means nothing). It took 3wks before they eventually shipped it out. They weren't the fastest to respond to email either but the part did ship and arrived in perfect condition.
 
mine arrived, bolt slides over the mag without picking up a round. Off to the gunsmith to get tweaked I guess

I had the same experience. The magazine would not pick up a round when installed in an unmodified receiver. When used with a receiver I modified to accept the Remington detachable magazine system, it is fine.
Takes about 10 minutes on the vertical mill.
 
Julient @ DownRange Precision had to grind away some of the feed lips of my 700 to get the magazine to go high enough for the bolt to catch the cartridge.
