2016 Canadian IPSC Nationals

just a quick question (this will be my first nationals) as I did not see any details on the web site....what exactly does the pre-match shoot consist of....

As per the rule book:

6.6.2 Only Match Officials (approved by the Range Master), match sponsors, IPSC Patrons and dignitaries (approved by the Match Director), who are members in good standing of their Region of residence, and IPSC Officers (as defined in Section 6.1 of the IPSC Constitution), may compete in a pre-match. Scores attained in the pre-match will be included in the overall match results provided dates of the pre-match are published in advance in the official match schedule. Competitors in the main match must not be restricted from viewing the pre-match.

So, pre-match is not for all competitors. If you signed up and paid your $250, you will be shooting over the 3 day main match.

Generally, it is the first day of the match that the officials get to try and cram 2 days of shooting into one.

Just got an email that I'm waitlisted ( I submitted my form and EMT 7am AST March 2nd). Sounds like I'm about 10 names deep into the wait list. I've never competed in a Nationals before, is it realistic that 10 people will cancel?

I was offered to shoot in the prematch but not sure If I can get the extra day off and being a fairly new IPSC'r not sure if its a good idea to try to do everything in one day. Thoughts?

Wow. That meaning they are already full, practically speaking.
More than ever, you snooze you loose!

With 10 names deep, keep your hope high. Lots of stuff can happen in a shooters work & family life. Shooting the pre-match is not a bad affair either, just fifty cents extra... may be a 'lil more ;)
Anyway, much cheaper and fun than DisneyWorld!!

EDITED - thanks to Freedom Ventures, our match sponsor.

Do accept/open emails from ...@division.co : they are from the Match Director.

(I suspected friendly brothers or cousins from Somalia or Ivory Coast...)

@division8 is the MD's business email address. Pls. Respond - let him know about the "already deposited". Some emts are confusing who they match up to.

I realize that the MD and registration staff must be overwhelmed the last few days so I will spare them an email...

Hopefully someone from the registration team gets a free minute and sees my questions here...

Will confirmation emails go out to those that made the cut and/or a confirmation list be posted on the website? If so, when?

(My EMT was cashed, but haven't heard anything from the registration team... I assume I made it in, but I hate to assume.)

And thank you for all your efforts,

Cheers!
