2016 CDTSA Multigun Matches **critical UPDATE Post 251 ** SEPT Match

Any recommendations on holsters for a G34 Glock, my plate carrier is full, the holster will have to hang off a belt, and preferably hook around the thigh....

Something with good retention. If it falls out during your run it is a match DQ.
Might want to look at a level 2 retention till you get used to things and can figure out what system you want to stick with.

I would strongly suggest against a drop leg holster. Go to 911supply, CSC or TSE and get a Bladetech. Get a dropped-offset if they are available.
The Bladetech retention can be adjusted and will hold a loaded pistol just fine for run-and-gun.

I will throw another recommendation to 911.
Warren, come on out to a steel challenge and we can show you some options and go over your gear if you want.
(Just make sure to bring lead or plated ammunition to that shoot.)

Seems like for the most part, there are no holsters made for the G34 per say, BUT G34's will fit in most G17 holsters if you can accept that the barrel will stick out around 3/4" haha (which doesnt bother me)

I will have to try on my plate carrier again, if i can work with a belt holster, it appears it will save me A LOT! of money haha.

whats the deal with the shotgun sling ?? why does the shotgun need a sling on it? do we have to run around with the shotgun slung or something ?

Belt holsters just work better.

Try reviewing your gear set-up and what and how you are carrying it. The belt holster shouldn't be overlooked.

I assume you are required to carry shotgun in the stage. The other guys will chime in. Sadly I won't be here for this event =(

If your planning on mounting it on the plate carrier sideways across your chest that won't be allowed. (treated same way as shoulder holsters which are not allowed in any matches)

Make sure if it is on the carrier it is strong side muzzle down. (which makes for a really awkward draw)

Level 1 vs Level 2 retention is preference and paranoia :)

We have DQ'd people for their gun falling out during the Course. So some like lvl 2 so they never have to worry about it.

OH FYI (And a recap as I just updated the title with this post number)

With the purchase of the new steel down at Milo we are now allowing jacketed rounds to be used in pistols. (I know some will be jumping for Joy)
Rifle Steel Core or penetrate rounds are still not allowed.

Also, reminder, slings on shotgun and bring some slugs. (Course of fire is not finished so that is subject to change)

<For those that shoot steel challenge we are still using the old mild steel for that so FMJ is not allowed in those matches>

June Match

Approx round count. (Still subject to change). IF you shoot perfect (Which no one will). Is 61 Rifle, 46 pistol, 46 Shotgun and 2 slugs. **Rules of thumb is to double the count**
