2016 Eastern Regional F-Class Championships

I can't even see at 900 m, but they must have novice events with shorter distances no?

just to be humorous and not to be overly rude

if you posted less than 125 silly posts a day and went to a real range once in a while you would know what life is really like

you need to get out more and enjoy your hobby you seem dedicated to, it will be a blast

OK so I was think of making the trek out and came across this

Here is a link to the worksheet for determining whether your load is within the DCRA range template at Connaught. This template is enforced at all DCRA competitions, and will be in effect for the 2017 F-Class World Championships. Click the link it takes you to a blank page.

And on the last page of the for it ask about load info, so who decides if it's safe? Where's the cut off? This question was also brought up at the Berger South West Nationals

There are two things at play here: 1) The DCRA safety template for Connaught, which is Appendix A of the DCRA rule book for Fullbore shooting. This is a straight calculation of BC (G1) and MV, and really only applies to F-Open shooters despite the best efforts of a few F-TR shooters. ;) Here is a table I put together listing some of the more common F-O bullets and their respective max MVs.

Bullet%20Chart%20110315.jpg

This chart was developed using the graph I created from the DCRA figures, which can be found both on the easternfclass.ca website or here. If your bullet is not listed let me know what it is and and I'll update the table or post the number here.

The other safety issue is ammunition pressure, which is well covered under ICFRA F-Class rules. Basically if you or your shooting partner are exhibiting high pressure signs (i.e. popped primers, difficult bolt lift, etc.) YOU ARE REQUIRED to report that to the RO for further investigation. Should a competitor's ammunition be deemed unsafe they will not be permitted to shoot again until they can demonstrate the safety of their ammunition to the satisfaction of the range officer.

Hope you do decide to come!

Cheers,

Scott

Hey Stuart, if you're shooting FTR (which you were last year) you should be good to go...as per post #26.

On another note, if any open shooters are planning to participate in the 2017 world championships the above graph would be an excellent guideline for velocity limits.

Down to about 10 spots left so get your entries in if you haven't already!

Big thanks to R P S, Kreiger Barrels, Star Shooter, ESS, Hirsch Precision, Applied Ballistics, SEB Rests, Mystic Precision, and Stittsville Ranges for their generous support.

Still hovering at 10 spots left. Had a couple of cancellations, and few new entries to fill in. Get your entry forms in ASAP if you don't want to miss out, as we WILL sell out.

On the sponsorship front I'd like to thank Berger Bullets, Nedco, Peterson Cartridge Company, and Lucas Oil Outdoor Products for their pledges of support. It's going to be a great competition!
