Just bought my first SKS from Cabelas , I know it's refurbished by marker. I did notice some strange marker outside. But for 199, I didn't think too much.

But when I strip it and saw same mark on top of barrel with number 16.

does it mean most part with same mark are from recent refurbishment? is that good or bad?

You can see the picture here:

That is laser etched marking that denotes when it was exported. Most SKS have been in storage for a long time and were refurbished before storage.

Have fun!:d

O П-CKC - охотничье-промысловый ("commercial hunting (carbine)) - SKS
B П- Вятско-Полянский машиностроительный завод «Молот»- Vyatsko-Polansky Molot machine work plant - symbol of the Molot plant
CIP/N- a mandatory proof mark
Г И C - God Izgotvlenya Serii 16- Year of Series Production 16 - looks like either it was manufactured or assembled from parts (?) in 2016? I know from reading articles on the SKS that the SKS's continued to be manufactured well into the 2000's. I guess that was not real "manufacturing" but rather assembly from existing parts.
