Terrific post! That's one of my bucket list hunts right there...actually, it's floating up to the top of the bucket. :) Congratulations on that trophy and that experience.

Ardent, you have put it perfectly. Working in the far North, under poor conditions, with merely adequate housing and food...it's not for everybody. When I speak to people in my own trade who express surprise at the income possibilities in the North, I always need to explain that they're not just paying you to do a job; they're paying you for going up there, and staying up there to do it. :)
 
I have not shot a whale to date with the iron site 50bmg sadly. Its still in the plans for future whale hunting. This reply was for the gent on page 2 asking. Thanks again for the comments folks. Cheers.
