I have been told we need at least 25 shooters entered by May 15th or the match may be cancelled.

Let's not let that happen. If you are going to shoot the match, sign up now!!!!!!! ;)

The COF is still in a process I apologize to everyone interested that it is not set in stone yet , However regardless of that we will have a COF ready for the shoot.
And yes we do need 25 participants to have a Championship shoot. right now we have 13 So if your interested sign up before may 15th so you can get a shirt!
A reminder Fri site in, You can bring your own targets , We will have some there at 2$ each if you need, And we may run a steel match on Fri as well

Hey Rod, people are asking why the 300m to 600m zero only, and no 100m/200m zero session on the Friday sight in.......... any reason for this change? Thx.

Since we are going to run only one site in instead of two. and starting later to allow out of towners time to get there. we figured most people have a 1&200m zero anyway that this would work fine. Then we can get to a steel shoot in the afternoon once zeros are done

And thanks to everybody that has signed up, we now have 16+3 partners that have not signed up yet, So we are getting closer. I have not heard how many have mailed in yet so there could be a few there as well

We are still waiting on some sponsors that may help us out, And MDT has been able to get PGW interested as well, So that is nice to have them back with us!

If there is anybody out there interested in running the butts Sunday for sure Maybe Sat as well , It is a payed position at 15$/hour. PM me

the exact round count is still unknown, But including Fri if you shoot 10 rounds per range and if we do a optional steel match I would like you to have say 230 rounds for the weekend just to be sure you have enough, However 200 may be enough to get you through.
Because we have shooters coming from back east and some that only have yards for zeros I am going to give 7 minutes at each range of 100 & 200 m then 10 at 3-600m as before. you can bring your own targets if you like or we will have some there for $2 each
And if you have coms, they can be helpful as well so you can talk to your puller in the pit.

Other news we have 25 signed up ,so we are officially a Championship!

And even Better Thanks too MDT for getting Ultimatum involved They have put up a 308 short action for a prize!

O and illae would you have room in your trunk for some target pullers:)

Rod, any update on the course of fire and any rule changes this year we should know about??

I heard something about aftermarket muzzle brakes being allowed this year........

I just sent my COF to the Secretary to be put together and put up on the bcprecisionrifle it should be up within a few days. Round count 70 rds. MAX Fri. Sat & Sun =167.

And yes Muzzle breaks are allowed, aftermarket breaks on Custom guns and breaks fitted outside factory's to factory threaded barrels will be in open class. it is simply a classification so stock guns have a chance.

hmmmm, so I have a TRG. I re-barreled my rifle because the factory barrel was shot out. I do have a muzzle break for it (a factory TRG one and an after market one). The factory TRG break was never available "fitted at the factory" on the civilian version, it only came fitted on the military ones, but it's 100% the same muzzle break.

The barrel is the same as the factory barrel (1:11.25 twist @ 26") 308 winchester, but it's not the factory barrel.

So am I in open class because I re-barreled?

Or am I in open class if I run any muzzle break?

Or am I in open class only if I run a aftermarket muzzle break, but I'm in limited class if I run the TRG factory muzzle break?

sorry I'm confused and just want to understand. I thought limited class was anything 223 rem or 308 win, now it sounds like it's just if you run a muzzle break, regardless of what barrel you run.

Thanks

it is open because it is not a factory equipped break . the classification of open is to give people running stock rifles a chance to compete in there own division. I would like to change this rule and have it as " if you have a break you are open class"
But that will have to wait until this year is over. I am going to decide what class a rifle will be in, If I see fit to reclassify a rig.

I don't really get the rules as they pertain to brakes, putting a .308 with a brake in the same class as a 6mm or 6.5mm doesn't make much sense. Not to mention that an AI with a factory brake is limited but a Rem 700 with a factory threaded muzzle but aftermarket brake is open? It'd would be much more reasonable to borrow a page from our neighbours down south and make "Limited" .308 with 175-178gr or .223 with 77gr only (irrespective of brakes). Everything else is open. That would actually make for a much more level playing field. Just saying...

Ditto.

If a shooter wants to be more competitive in a limited class, then installing a brake is an easy affordable mod. Changing calibre to a flat shooting cartridge to run in open class is neither affordable or easy.
