2017 Bootstrap Prairie M14 clinic

No worries rooster lol. It's starting to dry up nicely around here now. Iam hoping to get combining in a week or so. Time will tell tho. I hope you have a good turn out. Iam sure everyone who attends will have fun and learn lots

Well Hoss, I truly wish you luck. I hope that you can get to it before it starts to sprout. At least feeder prices are down at the moment;) If things hang up on you for a few days, you know how to get ahold of me. I've yet to come across a guy who regretted coming to the clinic!

Quick heads up for anyone looking to stock up on ammo for the clinic, Eagle Firearms in Tisdale (used to be Haugen's) has crates of Chinese 7.62x51 in stock for $600/1000.

That's not bad. The LGS has some as well, but I believe it's $625/crate, at least it was the last time I looked at it!

Tradex still has the cheapest Hirt @ $995 for 2 crates. The "other guy" (who used to be a site sponsor) has it on sale for $499/crate. Both are offering free shipping.

I believe that puts the Chi-com steel case ammo @ $.63/round and the Hirt @ $.78/round.

I feel like inventing a time machine so I could go back in time, and punch myself in the mouth for not buying a pallet of Chinese ammo at $400/crate....

2 years ago my round count on the weekend was just shy of 700.... but that was several different rifles....

Last year, I don't think I expended more than 200 rounds....

It all depends on how much you wanna shoot really.... the course of fire on the "run n gun" portion will likely be 40 rounds (36 if it's all first round hits), bring 100, in case you have a bunch of misses or get to run it twice...

Bring as much ammo as you feel comfortable with, I'd reccomend a couple hundred rounds. I usually bring "extra" just in case, and I'll likely have a crate or 2 extra along for the fellas who run short as well..... I don't "generally" like to sell ammo (it's the hoarder in me I guess), but it'll be there if fellas run shy.

I'm also planning on bringing "misc" parts n bits.... well let's be honest, I'll likely bring everything in the shop, like I did last year!

I'll give you guys a bit of a teaser regarding the COF for the clinic. I've just added a few bits to it that flow well with what we have established already.

Prior to the actual COF, we'll go through sight in / battle zero along with additional verifications at 100, 200, 300, 400.

Stage 1 will be a group at 100, some off hand work, and some sitting / kneeling at near your MPBR.

Stage 2 is a bit more dynamic. We'll be engaging targets at various distances from in, on, and around a static, wheeled obstacle.

Stage 3 makes you find the best 'slot' to engage each target through the trees that surround you. There's a portion of this stage where you'll look at me and call me something your mother would slap your mouth for and another portion that would have you chase me to beat me....if you could catch your breath

Stage 4 - well, just think Captain Phillips for this one. This will definitely test your sight alignment, lead / timing, and recoil management very well! Again, you'll probably swear at me. Those who know me know that I'm quite okay with that :d

The additional stuff I've added will add to our round counts slightly. Bet on 50-ish rounds.

Clinic cancellation

Hey guys, I'm very sorry to have to tell you all that this year's clinic has been cancelled. Life's been a bit of a coont lately and I have to deal with some things.

I will be sure to let you all know if / when we run this thing again at some point. Take care all & thank you very much for all the interest.
